Huge Glutes

Started working on my glutes last couple of months before the Chinese virus and can't wait to work on them again with the reopening of gyms.

How desirable is it for you, or your partner in crime to have a huge juicy arse?

Not something I take into account, I do like bums though.

I have buns of steel from squats though

Hate leg day! I have no will to do them at home so will need to return to the gym to fix that. I have naturally chunky legs, just that they lack firmness atm. Hope nobody minds!

I think seeing ladies with their impressive lower bodies in the gym actually motivates me to do some lower body work. Also barbell squats and deadlifts promote human growth hormone apparently which is another reason I incorporate them. Doing a hundred body weight squats and lunges at home sucks.

Why did you stop?

25 rep single leg glute bridges, single leg trx squat

Glutes love volume and mind muscle focus

No gym should have little impact on glute training

Walking sprinting all good with correct techniques

Surely the simple solution is not to sit on your arse so much. I have read all these comments and can not believe that people are so focused on all these excercises and gym moves when the simple answer would be to walk more.

Such as....?

Hip thrusts are the best! Bridges and lunges are good too. And as Lorenzo says, donkey kicks/kick backs aren't bad either.

Bridges are so fucking painful and necessary to correct my back

Really? That's interesting. Which part of your back? "

Lower back, anterior pelvic tilt.

"My glutes need some work, apparently I don’t squat unless I’m in a gym being told to by a PT?!

There are far better glute excercises than squats

I have a really arched back! I have to really engage core for any exercises, especially deadlifts.

Things like scissor kicks, I use the old "try and squish a blueberry " with your lower back on the mat

So do I!

I first started a stretching workout for it when the pain got really bad when I had to stay at home during lockdown. That helped massively but I need a more permanent solution.

I do bicycle kicks for them whilst trying to push my lower back flat to the ground.

"Started working on my glutes last couple of months before the Chinese virus and can't wait to work on them again with the reopening of gyms.

How desirable is it for you, or your partner in crime to have a huge juicy arse?

Excuse me sounding dense but i do not know what glutes are.

The muscles in your backside, as far as I understand. But one of these gym buffs may be able to tell you more than I can!

I am no gym "buff", however you are correct! Most of us need to work our glutes more! They get lazy from all the sitting down we do and it can throw your posture out of line. Ever see people standing with their butt clenched wnd hips forward?

Surely the simple solution is not to sit on your arse so much. I have read all these comments and can not believe that people are so focused on all these excercises and gym moves when the simple answer would be to walk more."

I walk and run regularly as well as use the gym.

It's a bit more complicated than that. We aren't really designed to sit at all. Apes mostly squat. We sit down though. Also many people work in jobs where they don't have much choice other than to sit for most of the day.

Can’t say I have really... guessing this good for your butt though?

No it's what people do when they have bad posture due to weak glutes . I must just notice it more now I'm aware its a thing.

Single leg bridges stabilise the pelvis extend the hip flexors and avoid the need for a heavy bar "

I am aware and have recommended this excercise myself above, however thrusts are simply an excercise that I enjoy and I personally don't mind the bar.

Ahh damn. Postural issues are the worst. Strengthening glutes seems to help with most of them. I have mild swayback posture which I've been working on correcting.

Walking doesn't provide a huge amount of stimulation to the glutes. For those with posture issues other exercises that provide greater muscle activation are far more beneficial.
