Out of my league, crochet is a different beast

Another crocheter here, can knit but prefer crochet. Interesting anecdote from the dawn years of the tinternet, I thought I'd type knitting into my search engine (pre Google days) and see if there were any free patterns... naive little me definitely did not expect to be directed to a New York Lesbian Group

Tis easy. I find knitting way more difficult.

so near and yet so far....

I’ve been considering knitting a teapot cosy.... can’t decide if it should be a crinoline lady style or seaside scene one

If any of you have any patterns that could help,I’d appreciate it... or new suggestions are welcome!

There are some really quirky teacosy pattern books on Amazon.

Back in the 80's I was at an ex g/f's mother's house for Sunday dinner. Her step Dad had fallen asleep and there was my ex, her Mum and her sister-in-law. They all got the knitting out. My ex was knitting a stuffed pig, so as I was bored I asked for some needles and some wool. I ended up knitting a scarf for the pig out of scrag ends. I made quite a decent job of it, even if I say so maself

"Wish someone taught me how to crochet"

I learnt from a book about 35 years ago. Its quite easy the trick mostly is to have relaxed hands. I was helping my friend learn and she was so tense that we could hardly get the wool off the hook . I bet there are YouTube tutorials if you can bear the patronising tone and waggling of crochet hooks

I can knit and crochet but after a while the feel of the wool and the squeaky needles makes my teeth itch and I cant do it anymore.
