Winking should be 1st part of messaging

I think sending winks should be part of messaging to stop some people wasting their time as some messages don’t get opened talk of getting a reply. (Or maybe it’s me) loool

But

I think a wink back should be an acknowledgment before people go to messaging saves both parties a lot

What do you guys think?

I think that winks should be one option, rather than the way it 'should' be done.

I agree with that and if you get a wink back it’s a nice little opener

Although I agree, I have found if you wish to be totally ignored then sending a wink is the way forward

I ignore winks, and if I like the look of someone I'll message them anyway.

I misread that at first as “wanking” should be the first part of a message

Somewhere

I’ve had great conversations with people who’ve winked. In fact a recent wink has lead to very “exciting” conversations.

I think people should use fab how they wish to and not follow the preconceptions of others. Helpful OP?

Good luck with that. I never respond or even look much at winks. They are just a way of randoms attempting lazy contact and then it would left to me to laboriously check each profile.

Read and respect profiles. Send a message if you match and then forget about it.

Either you'll get a reply or you wont.

They're too easy. I sometimes get one or send one to ladies I know as a little hello, but generally, as an icebreaker or introduction, they can be done with so little thought and in so much volume that they have little value.

A wink is a good way to break the ice, if you get one back then a message is the next logical step.

I rarely look at my winks, but I will say, I did once wink at someone which has led to something beautiful.

They are a good option for me, but not the only option

I disagree. I think a wink can come later. If everybody winks straight off, it is like a coin dropping exercise.

Surely far better to wrap something up in a bow.....send it with a kiss (yes it takes more effort), but it can open the mind....not just a photo tick box. Too one dimensional approach for me (IMMHO.....LOL)

I rarely look at winks, in fact it's usually only when someone puts a post on the forums about winks that I even remember they are there! Don't think I personally have ever winked at anyone, although maybe M has.

Somewhere off the edge of the map... 'ere there be monsters

From what I've seen on the site so far winks are unwanted / disliked / ignored / blocked by most women and couples. And seeing as the site already tells you if you've been viewed, fab'd or message sent (which are all indicators of interest), the whole wink option just seems a bit... superfluous. Especially if more often than not it's going to be received negatively, makes me wonder why Fab don't just get rid of it, to be honest.

Why wink is my opinion if your interested please send a message instead.

Why should I start a pm just because you cant be bothered sending the first message.

Club Meets Only

Sometimes I check winks sometimes I don't, a wink could still be a waste of time if you're not what the other person is looking for
