So we were all given a name without any say in the matter and now it's time to put things right.

For the sake of this thread you can change the actual name you were christened with to anything you want.

So if you want to be a jimmy danger or a princess falloola you can be.

Happy with your real name or want to change it ?

Curly wurly for the funniest

...

I hated my name as a child, so I would have changed it then without a doubt. I'm ok with it now though.

If I could change it, I'd like to be something like Isabella because then I could be Izzy or Bella as well.

I think I look like what my name is ... if that makes sense but looking at myself now I think I would suit an Anna but that’s not the name I’d pick for myself haha I think I’d pick Kate

Does that make it legally binding ? I guess it must be or you could be living a lie and actually not exist

I like the name Courtland. Court for short, so probably that. Or I'd just settle for people calling me Nate.

It is more inclusive to refer to them as first names or given names rather than Christian names.

I didn't like my name when I was at school as 4 out of 15 girls in my class all had the same name. I wanted something unique !

She was at a boarding school but came from a circus background. Unsure if the book was the MaloryTower ones or the St Clair ones

I love my name but i don't suit it, it suits pretty, delicate, feminine women and I'm non of those.

Years ago my parents said they had 2 names they liked for me, the other name was Sallianne/Sally Ann ... i don't know which version they meant. I think i look more like that name or maybe Gertrude or similar

I like mine. Used to dislike it up until my late teens but now I like it, it's quite uncommon.

I almost got called Natalie which is similar, but Natalie isn't as nice.

I'm happy with my name now but was the only one in my high school so wasn't so keen then, I just wanted to blend in!

My dad decided on my name because he fancied the woman I'm named after. If my mum had got her way I would of been Emma, I prefer my actual name!

To the OP, this thread has a huge amount of importance to me.

My first name is from the first girl when at high school that saw past the odd geeky twit.

My surname comes from a very very distant family member, and that surname line died out before the turn of the 1900’s.

So as I can soon choose my own name and surname when my gender changes legally, Baroness Von Konig died without marrying, so I’m borrowing her name, but not her title.
