Somewhere In The Ether…

.......And His Name Is Wiggly Woo.’

So sang the chorus in this children’s song that we were taught at school.

What were your favourite songs from your early school days?

Somewhere In The Ether…

‘Heads, shoulders, knees and toes’ - that was a classic, not least of all when the body part names are gradually deleted from the vocals and the motions are performed in silence.

Even as a kid, I remember feeling a right plonker doing it

Something something something...

'Broadbeans are sleeping in a blankety bed.'

My babies at work love;

I am a tiny turtle, my name is tiny tim

They put me in the bathtub to see if I could swim

I drank up all the water, and ate up all the soap.

And now I'm lying in my bath with a bubble in my boat.

Bubble bubble bubble bubble in the air. Bubble bubble bubble bubbles everywhere!

BUBBLE....BUBBLE......POP

My favourite when I was small was:

We went to the animal fayre

The birds and bees were there

The big baboon by the light of the moon was coming his auburn hair

The monkey fell out of his bunk

And slid down the elephants truck

Weeeeeeeee.....

The elephant sneezed! And fell on his knees!

And what became of the monkey, monkey, monkey, monkey, monk

Cauliflowers fluffy and cabbages green,

Strawberries sweeter than any I’ve seen.

Beetroot purple and onions white,

All grow steadily day and night.

The apples are ripe, and the plums are red,

The broadbeans are sleeping in the blankety bed.

"I remember Incey, Wincey Spider and

I sing three different versions of Incey Wincey

Incey Wincey Spider, climbing up the tree. Down came the snow and made poor Incey freeze! Out came the sunshine and melted all the snow, and Incey Wincey Spider, had another go

Dringodd y pry copyn, fyny'rbeben hir

Glaw mawr a ddaeth a'I olchi nôl i'r tir, yna ddaeth yr haul I sychu'r glaw I gyd,

A dringodd a pry copyn y biben ar ei hyd (Welsh)
