Is it just me or when you are confronted by reems of do's and dont's in BLOCK CAPITALS and we need these 30,000 hoops jumped thru before we would even consider reading your message type profiles do you just think... nah, I just cant be arsed!!!

My word these people must think they are the the mutts nuts, news flash people... dont take yourselves so seriously, we are here for fun not all the rules, you are not THAT good looking.

I like them! if someone has a long list of criteria they want people to follow before making any contact with them, that's very helpful.

Do you have to be good looking to make choices and have preferences ?

Some people choose to save them for PM's, others like to put them out there.

Of course only a few people read all the way, but then again many just have a gander at the pics and click straight off.

If someone is going to do that, you might as well make their life difficult first by minutes of paging down

Ive just posted a profile to my friend...a long winded major piece of tripe...theyd only looked at me...but from the outset all i thought was...getta grip..I'm not here for fannys...even tho I love FANNY.

I dont mind some instructions on how to contact,what they expect to a degree...but to be honest...I dont pander to anyone, especially those who I believe arent worth my time...theres always an easier option, one that should be more fun, not something like "U MUST BE THIS THAT MUST THIS THAT...", gets tiresome and its just a poorly executed profile.Although any idiots are perfectly welcome to rush in and get some hole if it means that much to them.Just count me out I can wait.

Mine is long and has grown over the two and a half years I have been here, it is not a long list of do's and don'ts but it is informative of the type of person I am looking for and the things I don't do, which saves a lot of time answering questions

That's quite right and I have to laugh when on one hand people complain on here a profile is too this or that yet when someone asks for profile advice they get told they should compose their own profile as it must reflect the profile owner.

theres my rant, so yes i agree with the op...and I really dont have any bad chips on my shoulder about not getting meets...I just beg to differ that a 'cpl' or 'fem' really need to have some of the heavy handed wordings on there profile...and as I'm adapt at following some profiles..I see there stupid dramatic statuses being updated almost daily about not getting meets or getting timewasters.Their own fault for acting like spoilt twats thinking some of us are so desperate to play with them.

Yes have preferences and ask for pics when contacting is fine but a 10,000 character epic in capitals makes for someone who is too up themselves to allow anyone else in!!

I/ we've got a long profile. I like a profile with quite a bit to it. However, I also don't like those with capitals YOU MUST/ MUST NOT etc. Most of ours is a wish/ preference list, rather than a 'must' list - and it is written largely tongue in cheek (although not everyone gets that - but I figure I generally wouldn't get on with those who don't get it)

It's like everything on this site - what you do will please some, but not all - but do it for yourself, first and foremost

I do sometimes consider adding some more preferences to my profile but judging from the messages I get people are not reading it anyway, so a long list of Do's and Don'ts, plus heckling and angry comments seems a little pointless.

Depends whats in the profile . OK could be long but full of usefull information such as likes and dislikes , rules for meets , what to expect and gives a hint of their personality . However having said that if its just a profile stating must have's and Do not's and then a list of demands followed by some really silly legal junk then its clear to me we just not going to get on .

It's to try and cut out the "no's" before they mail.

the profile types the OP and a cpl of others have pointed out are the least friendly outgoing type of profiles.*Its almost fairly evident that they arent working (angry status's etc.,the sites FULL of timewasters,'we've come to the conclusion NOBODY meets here')- We all know its pish being spouted and everything becomes FABs fault for not getting them meets.

I still dont know why its not perfectly acceptable to comment on what turns u OFF a profile?- especially if ur a single guy.Its always assumed there is some sort of gripe about 'us' not getting meets with someoene we wanted...when in fact we just look at the profile and thnk, nahhh u sound like cunts.

amazingly alot of them actually exist...some can be found in pairs

Actually, you've raised a valid point there re status lines and the whiney threads about not getting meets/being stood up. However, they tend to have a long list of verifications too, so they're finding "like minded people"...just not enough to further massage their egos perhaps?

I beg to differ, lol. I do read people's profiles in their entire length and I read what is written and, equally what is not. It does tell me something about the person, well enough to decide whether I might consider meeting them or not.

A profile is as long as the person needs/ wants it to be and if people prefer to just look at the pictures instead , that is their choice. At the end of the day we have tabloids and other newspapers... its a choice

My profile is about as long as necessary. I met a lady off here, no names but Hull area, blonde, very good looking and she knows it, profile as long as the dildos she poses with. Anyway, I politely joked that after reading her profile I was 50/50 on whether to bother contacting her as she seemed high maintenance. Agreeing with you yet again Fabio! If you can't paint an adequate pen-picture of you, what you want and what you can offer in one screen space without having to scroll down, then you need to work on your English Language skills!

I have the list of don't first, that way it saves anyone reading the rest; I did have it the other way round but found no-one read that far, having the don't list first might be off-putting, who knows. In reality, most look at the picture and want to see more so don't read the profile anyway so what difference does it make

The 'can't be arsed' brigade are probably precisely the kind of people that those who write long profiles don't want to meet, Some of us don't want just anyone coming along!

example:

woman wanted must be shaved 3inches in brazillain style, must squirt,must swallow cock etc etc etc....(add capitals if u need)

its nothing to do with the length of the profile...its to do with the content.

like i've said in another post about gangbangs, i seriously never want to go to a meet no matter how short, just to be treated exactly like a machine, these profiles that are being 'questioned', most often come across as crude 'want'want'want' profiles.

For that very reason, people turn off to the profile...which the OP pretty much did, lke I do.I dont sit msg outwith their parameters expecting some sort of meet, or msg saying anything derogatory.I just sit and ponder, why would I want an angry profile...why would I not want to make myself sound inviting...especially when I'm actually searching for meets!
