Took this off a profile. Not seen this disclaimer before. Is it the new trend in pointless disclaimers??

Publicly traded entity would imply its floated on the stockmarket which I don't think it is.

No. My thesis is based on real life case studies

I find lot of people with no personality put "legal crap" in their profile.

Perhaps to make it bigger. Who knows.

Lot of them don't even have any pictures that could be stolen. Or aren't good enough to wank over them.

The disclaimer means squat, once you post your pictures publicly you have lost control of them.

Ignore all the disclaimers. I even saw something a few years back posted by fab itself saying to stop putting the disclaimers because it might not be much but all it does is take up server space and accomplishes nothing.

People need to learn that if it's posted online it's going to be shared. It's not a case of if, but when.

Little statements like this don't mean a thing.

Fab doesn't even allow you to watermark your own photos so there's zero protection at all.

Disclaimers are a pointless load of shite.

If someone wants your photos, theyll take them.

You're better off putting water marks over them so they're less than useless for anyone trying to post them online.

Always surprised to read some people's disclaimers which are specifically to Sydney University only. Like they would be OK with other colleges publicly posting their face pics.

I'm pretty sure the Sydney Uni rumour was started by Brisbane University, actually. They are the real bastards.

We're still open, we work in the biology department. It's winter here in Sydney, but still nice

If I see those 'disclaimers' on a profile, it instantly tells me that this person is gullible and doesn't understand how the internet works.

It should read "Warning: Avoid the makers of this profile at all costs - They'll believe anything they read on the internet and are probably Anti-Vaxxers who wear tinfoil hats"

I don't get get what people think writing the crap will achieve... And fab even askes people not to put it on there as its such a waist of server space having so many people type out the same pointless drivel

There's no correlation between Sydney and anti vaxxers

Let’s not trivialise the work the good people at Sydney do.

I tell people it’s real. I don’t know why. I just like anarchy and I’m a bit of a rascal

Usually it's posted on a profile with no text other than "just ask" and an obligatory dick pic.

All of these disclaimers are horseshit. If someone wants your pics. Theyll take them. What are the chances you'll be able to find their IP. And trace it. (Cant be done by mere mortals) Track them down. Hope they're in when you knock on their door and hand them a court order. Tell them theyve been a very very naughty boy/girl.?

Pretty much fucking zero.

The only thing it does is give Sydney University and such some probably unwelcome attention.

In the monkey house

This has been bouncing around for years. What people get wrong is the difference between what websites like book, Twatter and even fab do with the data you have given them and what you post to your profile or forums.

No company can sell or pass on your data or the information you have given (email addresses, names, anything) without your express permission. This is law and covered by GDPR and data protection. Asking for permission must be done openly and cannot be hidden in loads of legal jargon or fine print and conditions.

The stuff you post on your profile or forums is out there in the “public domain” so can be “used or analysed freely.

"I've seen that floating about with Facebook's name still in it "

I read it on one profile that started out saying they were "extremely well educated and both professional people"

Not well educated enough to realise they weren't on Facebook...

I've seen it on more than one profile.

Dafties.
