Weirdsville South Coast Dorset

Personally I prefer proper candle wax over the ones made for play that melt at a lower temperature.

I enjoy it. I once drew a giant spunking cock on my ex's back in hot wax though. Black outline with red veins and spunk spurts .

We enjoy hot wax play.

However as we follow SSC/RACK we prefer to use Soy based candles specially for the lower melting temperatures.

Given the heat perceived by the recipient will differ based on wax colour, the height it is dropped from as well as where on the body the wax is dropped, we don't feel any need to increase the risk factors but each to their own.

When we talk to people about it, we advise anyone engaging in temperature play should ensure they are aware of the risks, and ideally have wet cloths or burn cream to hand. I have done wax countless times, and have still managed to burn myself on occasion as accidents can happen.

Paraffin and Soy wax tend fo melt around 46oC

Beeswax melts around 62oC

Candles made with stearin melt around 80oC

Skin can burn if exposed to temperatures as low as 44oC for a prolonged period of time, or can burn in seconds at 80oC.

Its fun, but that doesn't mean it cant be dangerous. I have had jugs of wax thrown all over me, and once it only missed my eye by millimetres - it got all over the side of my face and in my ear. Now I have safety goggles in my wax kit just in case we get that energetic again!

We use tealights, when dropped from about 12 to 18 inches or so, it hits the skin at just the right temperature. We love it.

Doesn't half make a mess though
