'Self Love' challenge part 2

Jump to newest

By (user no longer on site) OP

I just checked my last thread and saw it was full up, so here is a part two for anyone who missed out and wants to join in.

This is a thread about embracing those parts of you that you are not comfortable with. I want you all to know you are perfect just as you are and those real parts of your body are nothing to be ashamed of.

So, if you are feeling brave share a photo with the world of Fab and let us all appreciate your beauty!

I've just caught up on a few posts from the last thread and for those that still have their pictures up, you look amazing. I know a few have taken them down but I'd love to see them if you feel comfortable enough to share them again.

And if anyone feels like they are too hideous to share a photo I will tell you now that you are good enough and more than your body.

I'm going to try from now on to make more of an effort to select the photos I normally wouldn't!

My profile picture is my most honest photo of me. It shows what I really look like....no fancy angles or sucking my tummy in.

I have accepted that this is me

I worry about asking ppl to seek out the bits about themselves they don't like it are uncomfortable with, even if the intent is well placed. They still wont like them tomorrow and they'll still wear big pants etc, they'll just have shown their arse publicly and they'll be thinking "but I've got cracking in tits though". I'd rather celebrate the things that make a person truly happy tbh, body image isn't one of them for me, I'd start with the mind and the thought processes, outlook and values, innit.....

I don't have any bits I'm uncomfortable with, but I do still love you LBC and all your body bits, I just think like a weirdo I guess, idk....

If they were truly uncomfortable they wouldn’t show the bits they didn’t like, no ones telling anyone to do anything, if people want to they can, if they don’t they won’t, don’t over analyse what maybe a good thing for some people.

It's not necessarily the want to like certain bits of yourself though. It's about body acceptance and to me those are two different things.

Plus it's far too easy on here to think person x has a perfect body and must have loads of body confidence, which the threads have shown isn't true. And nobody has messaged me saying put that ugly stomach away. Which kinda just emphasizes we are our own worst enemies sometimes.

what will the do gooders and hand ringers say when she commits an atrocity in the name of Islam or brainwashes the next vulnerable person she meets . Just remember this thing has been trained and brainwashed. In my opinion it is too dangerous to bring her back.

So many levels to any reply I could give and I have a meeting at three so I'll bugger off now and leave you with it. However, what I do see in reality here is ppl who actually already ARE confident and happy and who would generally be termed beautiful showing their bits and receiving lots of praise, while those who aren't so confident sink further, as so often happens on the forum......

Hmm, see I genuinely do think threads like this and seeing more parts of real bodies everywhere does make a difference to how you view yourself. I'm not saying my thread is going to cure people and suddenly they will love the bits they hate, but one tiny step at a time and seeing so much positivity for normal parts of our bodies that people are often shamed for is only a good thing.

I know in ways I have started to accept myself more since unfollowing unrealistic body image accounts and starting to follow more accounts that embrace the parts society looks down on.

I've had several messages from people because of this thread saying they do feel better for just getting their bits out they usually hide away.

My body definitely plays a part in my happiness. And if I can learn to love and accept my body and show the 'imperfect' bits that will make my mind happier and healthier.

If you need to take a photo and stick your gut out to show Fab something you're not comfortable with then it sounds to me like you're very fortunate.

I hope that makes sense. X

One issue I've found with trying to accept bits of myself I don't like is that I'm noticing and finding more and more which I don't like.

This time last year I went through a whole journey of re-learning to accept, enjoy and celebrate my body and myself as I am.

I took this photo (now showing as my profile pic for today promoted by this thread) to show my body as it is. When sat down, breasts which slump and droop down, torso and belly which smush and have layers. The process was revealing in terms of vulnerability but them oh so empowering. This is me. No hiding

"I used to be hairy and fat.

Now I'm hairy and not quite so fat.

Slowly starting to get some body confidence back though. "

"This time last year I went through a whole journey of re-learning to accept, enjoy and celebrate my body and myself as I am.

I took this photo (now showing as my profile pic for today promoted by this thread) to show my body as it is. When sat down, breasts which slump and droop down, torso and belly which smush and have layers. The process was revealing in terms of vulnerability but them oh so empowering. This is me. No hiding "

I love love love this. I genuinely find that vulnerability so inspiring. You look fantastic!!

"I worry about asking ppl to seek out the bits about themselves they don't like it are uncomfortable with, even if the intent is well placed.

I get this. No matter who says what it doesn’t change the way I’d feel about it....so I’ll just forget about it as best I can and focus on the rest! "

You know yourself better than anyone! And if that's how you feel then you do whatever makes you happiest.

"Thanks for this fabulous thread LBC, I think you are one of the most beautiful people I have ever met.

I don’t like my stomach and chest and have worked hard to get it looking as it does now.

I have also been very aware of my penis size. I have always thought that it was smaller and thinner than average but having read various posts it appears that I have the average penis.

"

Thank you! I've checked out your photos and there is not a fault in site and your penis is absolutely fine. I'm happy to see so many men joining in this challenge too.

Put my tiger stripes back up.

It kinda felt good to own the only part of me I’ve hated for years. Kinda like a “fuck you” to my body doubts.

I hope it felt the same for a lot of you

Thank you!

I don't normally hear ladies say that, so that's really brightened my day.

I've set mine back to Friends Only. Bit wary of leaving my face on Public for too long!
