Sam leaps to a bar where he meets people from the journey and a mysterious barman, Sam realises he can finally control where he goes throughout his life so he fixes the few failings (notably best mate in vietnam) and then thinks about going home. Barman says - if you go home the loop closes and all your work will be undone, no worse than they were but not better. Or he can move on and they will remain improved (his purpose in each episode) but he will never go back to his life (where next is unclear). He chooses to go forward. As he disappears in sparkles, Barman wishes him goodbye with "God Bless, Sam Becket" with the pause suggesting he (barman) is God - the ultimate leaper. | |||

What a slap in the face for the fans
Scott Bakula has said that he would love to return to the series but as of yet, there are still no official plans that it will ever come back  | |||

It’s such a shame it had to end; it was very much ahead of it’s time to, boasting some brave and highly commendable episodes such as the one depicting the prejudice as was experienced by Sam when he leapt into the body of a young man with Downs Syndrome.
