As soon as I put a meal in the oven/microwave/hob I immediately start looking around for something to graze on while it cooks, whether that be a piece of fruit, a bit of cheese or a couple of biscuits from the pantry. Or sometimes I'll chop up some extra ingredients eg carrots and snack on those while I'm cooking. It's like I was manageably hungry before I started cooking but now my brain knows there's food coming I'm suddenly ravenous!

No, but I have an very irritating habit of really fancying a certain meal for dinner, look forward to it all day. But once I've cooked it and sat down to eat, I don't want it anymore.

Drives me fucking nuts!

Yep, crisps and peanuts. I usually snack while I'm cooking as well not just using the microwave. Sometimes by the time the meal is ready I'm not actually hungry

It's crazy isn't it! I've been getting into the habit of totting up my calories and macros lately and it's mad how much a) I didn't even realise I was eating and b) how fast it adds up!

Yes but I just do other things to occupy my mind generally get up in the morning have a coffee and then don't eat until I get back in at night-time by that time I'm not hungry I can't decide what I want I just throw anything in the oven and find something else to do while it cooks

It’s also amazing how many calories are in the extra Shreddies that you eat dry when you take them out of the bowl after weighing out your portion ... fully intending to put them back in the flipping box!

It's amazing how many shreddies are meant to be in a portion in the first place vs how much I actually eat lol

My friend does this (she’s fit, I eat anything) and has a shopska salad and classes as a starter to the meal.

She says it satisfies her until cooking finished and she looks good for it.
