(This is me thinking out loud, I don’t expect any kind of reply or response and I can’t promise any of this will make sense. But...)

Anyone else sick of seeing so much negativity online at the moment?

I know it’s nothing new and there is a lot of awful things going on especially over the last 6 months or so. But I (like many others I’m sure), turn to social media/online activities as a bit of an escape from reality only to find heaps of negativity and it’s clearly not good for mental health.

I often find myself completely logging out and deleting certain apps just for a break, but that in turn leads to me temporarily losing what little social interaction I have whilst living alone during the pandemic.

Perhaps I just need to chill the f*ck out

I haven’t noticed any more negativity in the last couple of months in comparison to how it was last year. Perhaps you’re connected to the wrong people/pages to have a positive experience?

Maybe I’m just noticing it more at the moment and letting it get to me, who knows!

Beyond fab, and maybe a few cooking, gaming and TV show related forums I stay as far away from social media as possible. I'll do my own thing and the rest of the world can continue being angry and whatever they are angry at today.

Perhaps try follow a few things that are more positivity/mindfulness based, their posts would break up the rest of the negativity you see in your feeds. Get that oxytocin flowing

I came off all social media due to the negativity on there, Facebook was the worst of them all for me.

Far too many keyboard politicians and virus experts on there for my liking.

I've has to leave some of the local Facebook groups I was in, the hypocrisy, finger pointing, curtain twitching and general mean spirited attitude of the posts was really annoying me. They made Victor Meldrew seem like the flaming Dalai Lama

I like that idea, as long as it’s not stuff that just gives people unrealistic expectations. That’d just start making me feel like I’m not good enough or don’t live up to other people’s standards haha!

I really do need to relax more don’t I!

Couldn’t agree more! Don’t think I’ve seen so many experts in politics, finance/economy, human rights and medical science. Don’t even get me started on all the expert armchair football managers!

I follow some local history and other hobby type groups that are quite heavily moderated. They can be quite relaxing

Social media is the root of all evil sometimes, don't get me wrong being able to connect with people is lovely but I think I'd prefer a time without it all.
