What does swinging mean to you?

What does swinging mean to you? I was chatting about this the other day and it made me think. How important is swinging to your life?

For example, is it a lifestyle for you or a only phase in your life? Is it something you can take or leave? How would a relationship with someone on or off Fab change your thinking? Other thoughts?

Its sort of a little exciting extra really, barely makes a mark on my life at all but I do like having a kinky open minded partner, that is a must I think

For me, as a single woman, it's a means of socialising in a fun way and increasing my social circle, but it's certainly not my only means of socialising, just a small part really.

A means to a (bell)end.

It allows me to get the sex whilst between relationships.

In the middle

I don't really partake anymore but what it did mean was a great bunch of friends both on and off this and another site, it meant I could be open and free in my sexual experimentation, I could try any scenario I wanted with whoever I wanted, it can be a very liberating experience

As a single woman it's a safer way of fulfilling my sexual needs - a lot of people mock the verification system, but for me it's an important part of my safety net on here (if there's a visible trail of people that someone has met then in my mind the chances of them being an axe murderer are greatly decreased).

But I've also been on the scene as part of a couple, in which case it can be an exciting addition to a healthy relationship.

I've been doing it a long time and am content in continuing, but I'd also happily give it up if I met someone and that's what we agreed - it's not my life by a long shot.

swinging is more of a mental attitude for us. Yes it involves the sexual side but is also about being relaxed, a lack of jealousy, letting go of any control which can be stifling so even if the sexual side fades everything else is still there.

We can take it or leave it, after all we haven't swung in over 4 months. It's nice to have some group fun now and again though

Right now? It's not part of my life. The forums merely give me a voice.

I've no interest in sex for the time being. I'm quite satisfied on the rare occasion I do get the horn to dance with myself.

For me at the moment it's about building my confidence back up and stumbling across the odd person who "gets me"

The scene is fraught with corruption of the deceptive kind, and I don't even mean people purposely lying to others, but also brimming with people lying to themselves.

This is interesting. The scene can be a place to build confidence, explore and experience aspects of sex we may never otherwise come across.

I'm not sure what you mean about people 'lying to themselves' so much as people 'discovering' themselves? Sometimes we think we know ourselves only to find something different when challenged by a new experience.

It's a lifestyle thing, making new friends and socializing, not hiding behind closed doors except for sex. But what do I know I only been doing it for 15 years

Freedom to connect sexually and intimately with others outside of the conventional relationship and societal set up. For me it's ever evolving. For now, on hold x

There and to the left a bit

It's an ever evolving thing for me - at times it's been all consuming, at others a pleasant distraction, on occasion I've been ready to walk away from it completely and sometimes it simply has the power to surprise and tantalise.

Could I walk away from it completely? If it loses my interest or for the right reasons then absolutely I could.

It changes hour by hour in all honesty. It's never really that important and plenty of other things will always take priority. It's just fun and if I have something or someone better to do then it usually gets paused or deleted.
