Jupiter and moons

Anyone with an interest and a good pair of binoculars out there?

Look to the south (ish), and you'll see a low, bright 'star'.

It's not star, it's Jupiter. Hold the binoculars dead steady (rest them on the garden fence?), and you'll see 4 tiny specs next to it. 4 of Jupiter's many moons.

From about 9pm onwards.

I read once that they suspect there to be life on one of Jupiters moons.

It's strange how planets have moons. How and what is the point in them.
