My cat of eighteen years died last year

went to rehoming centre yesterday to look at getting another cat with my daughter but couldnt decide on one

miss not having a cat but they are a tie

I couldn't replace mine when he died. Seemed a bit disloyal of me!! But yeah, they are a tie when you're on hols etc.

wouldnt be without one even though he terrorises me every night bringing in presents, I have a phobia about mice !!!!!! and he comes in the cat flap making the throaty noise, my heart starts pounding - and he has brought me another screwed up bit of paper, flattened MCD's cup, muffin wrapper, BBQ coal, anything really - although sometimes its a mouse ........... doing a good impersonation of a Rat!!!!! - I dont like him too much then .......

I only ever see the aftermath - a sad paw, or pile of feathers. I've always said if my lot co-operated though they could bring down a cow.

My ex-husband has moved in with his mother and asked if I'd take our daughter's cat.

The last cats I had chewed through cables, blind chords, chargers, used my bed and shoes as a loo. I like cats hated these...they had to go.

I've just spent six months renovating my home so didn't want a cat but I agreed.

I'm typing this with her in my lap, a fluffy bundle of joy who co-ordinates with my decore

...good thing as the vet says she can't go out for six months!!!

But there's something therapeutic stroking a pussy...eeerm, you know what I mean!

yes after eighteen years its very quiet during the week miss the company living on my own and daughter keeps wanting me to get another cat

I like cats, only we like to feed the birds so thought it would be no good getting one.

On spring watch the other day they said you should keep your cat in at night so it wouldnt kill any birds.

Also you can get a special colar that makes a noise when they go after birds, and fightens the bird away.

They say if you have you cat neutered that also stops them from wondering so far as well, so they kill less birds.

Cats do like company though, they dont need as much attention as a dog though.

Our neighbours had an old cat, it used to get lonely because they were always busy out working and stuff, so it used to come and stay with us.

I've always been of the opinion that pets choose their owners, the cat or dog that comes to the front of the pen takes a lot of interest in the person.. when the time is right for you you'll be chosen and you'll know as well.

Good choice using a rescue centre,.. I got my last cat from one , the lady that ran the centre said she hadn't seen the cat we took home come to the front of the cage and be like that with anyone else..
