Wookiedad if I smiled I’d cause people psychological damage, so instead I’ll just say respect to you brother, not had the opportunity yet myself but being a Dad must be the hardest job in the business and I have nothing but respect for you to be able to deal with your situation the way you do and give your kid all the love and support they need. Keep the chin up brother, as long as you have friends here you’ll never walk alone.

Oh I can relate, I all too often go to bed sad and frustrated and not in a good way! But then occasionally get those glimmers of magic that parents of neurotypicals aren’t lucky enough to get or appreciate in the same way. The other morning I came downstairs to my nine year old, having the biggest smile as she’d got and had her breakfast, and got herself dressed for school, I think this is only about the third time she’s dressed herself! The fact her clothes were on inside out and breakfast was cake doesn’t really matter!!

"I need cheering up last night was a realy shitty night as a single parent of a child with autism. I went to bed angry and sad all at once and woke up not feeling much better. So I ask all you wonderful people of fab can you set your profile pictures as a smile and bring some cheer back on this wet miserable day and bring my sunshine back please

I can totally relate hon, my daughter is struggling so much with no outside support so I get the fallout. Sending you massive hugs xx

She’s starting saying mummy when she wants me now so that’s progress, and we have moments of hugs, smiles and giggles so it can be beautiful too xx"

thanks viv and I'm always there if you want a chat xx
