Hopscotch, marbles or Red Rover? Any playground game really.

There seem to be lots of games going on today and I want to play one where I understand the rules.

Red Rover was a bit like bulldog.

You used to have two lines and say Red Rover, Red Rover I call (insert name) over and then that person on their own would have to try and break through the opposing line.

"Hopscotch, marbles or Red Rover? Any playground game really.

There seem to be lots of games going on today and I want to play one where I understand the rules.

Don’t remember red rover. Bulldog and and Lives at footie were good

Red Rover was a bit like bulldog.

You used to have two lines and say Red Rover, Red Rover I call (insert name) over and then that person on their own would have to try and break through the opposing line.

Remember both of those... we adapted red rover and used to throw tennis balls at the named person

Yours sounds a bit more ouchy, hurty

No worse than bulldog when you got flattened.... out school was a bit nuts mind

I was lucky being tall I could normally escape getting hurt on bulldog.

It’s rare I got caught as was school sprinter and a good dodger, but if I did get caught they got hurt as much as me oops "

In a good way I am not surprised by that oops

Why did you have a tennis ball in your tights up against a wall?

I remember doing it where you had to do a different chain of skills with throwing a tennis ball against a wall.

Lovely to see you have come out to play

You don’t remember standing with your back against the wall and swinging a stocking, or one leg of tights, with a ball in the foot of it hitting it against a wall around where you were stood. Was it just me? am I weird?

I liked it when teachers were cool.

Ours used to do a Christmas concert at the end of term and do a musical skit. They did Uptown Girl by Billy Joel one year with motorbikes and everything on the stage

Kerby is when you and your mate stand at opposite sides of a road and throw a ball at the opposite kerb hoping to make it bounce back to you off the edge of the pavement (hence the name).

Hours of fun but hated by road users.
