Sorry, but I think Sinatra just doesn't stack up in today's world.

He may have done 50 years ago, when a sexist, almost misogynistic attitude was still the norm, but I find him about as sexy as a box of old bricks...

He may have had good tone in his voice, but almost any male singer today can express himself better, and have more sex appeal.

Oh - go on - hurl your slings and arrows at me - I don't care, I just honestly don't rate the guy... never have...

Frank Sinatra's voice in the early days was better IMHO.

His version of "Fools rush in", "This is the beginning of the end", etc... melts me

Mind you, his Capitol years probably were his best years, and I love "Witchcraft", "Come fly with me" etc... from that period.

Nat King Cole, Deam Martin, even Bing Crosby etc. all have lovely voices IMHO, all unique in their vocal ways, and I love them all!

som women have done some wonderful ballards too, but for background music i usually put on something like enya or soft music like pan's pipes, or anything gentle

i had a meet in stoke last year ,, a daytime one in a hotel ,, the lady brought her enya cd ,,, lol all i could think was orinoco flow goin over and over and over and over in my feckin head ,,, it might do it for you ,,, but it certainly wasa a porr choice for a wet afternoon in a stoke travelodge

I've always thought F.S was overated and tended to talk his way through some songs and had a somewhat coarse voice.

To me,the best,most natural singer in the Rat Pack was Dean Martin.

He had such a mellow,relaxed voice.

Of that era Matt Monroe and Andy Williams were excellent too.

How weird,just as I wrote Andy Williams name,an add for his Greatest Hits came on TV,WOOOOOOOO!

Dean Martin is the coolest dude that ever lived.

Voice wise it's David Coverdale for me. His speaking voice is better than most peoples singing voice.
