London

So what’s been released recently that you’d recommend?

I need to explore.

My recommendations would be:

Televised Mind - Fontaines DC

Grounds - IDLES

Mordechai - Khruangbin

Carousels - Doves

"The Stroppies - Holes in Everything "

Popped it on, listening now.

It’s got a nostalgia and happiness vibe to it that reminds me of fun at sixth form, driving cars for the first time and hanging out with friends and a lot of laughter.

I like it.

Yeah it feels “summery” for me

The looks have just released a previously recorded few tunes that I think were originally for the inside in inside out album but never used.

This one is great and took me straight back to 2006 when I heard it...

The kooks ~ tea & biscuits

Any new Fontaines DC music is worth listening to. I’ve got the new Flaming Lips tune on heavy rotation, can’t wait for the new album in September

Love + Light by Daniel Avery is excellent, thoughtful come down techno.

All Things Being Equal by Sonic Boom is a fantastic album, lots of drone.

Save the Whale by JARV IS because well it's Jarvis

Not in the mood for this right now, but earmarked.

I’ve already heard Just Imagine and approve!

Popped this on because, well it’s Jarvis - who I met on Golborne Rd by Portobello many years ago, I have a dear love for him! His voice just cheers me.

Just listening to Stay Awhile. Not quite my go to, but enjoyable, punchy pop punk - and it really reminds me of something but it’s one of those on the tip of my tongue recalls. Damn that’s going to niggle at me!! Who do they remind me of?!

I'll try again - not new but well worth it. Unless you already know them.

I would say from that Album you want Himalaya or Nothing to Say. Both wonderful songs. I would love to help you but as far as pop-punk goes the american style high pitched vocals and in part hardcore influences is rife within the genre. So it could be many a band. Early Paramore was very heavily influenced by New Found Glory so could be that

David Gilmour has released a new single with his daughter Romany called Yes, I Have Ghosts.

Bit of a Leonard Cohen vibe to it
