See it’s things like Mufasa why I didn’t want to approach this subject alone haha. It’s all too emotional.

The one that always gets me is Jack Frost. I’ve stopped watching it. Dad dies, comes back as a snowman and the kid has to let him go again after reconnecting!!!! Evil bastard filmmakers

The film called Hachi a dogs tale gets me everytime.

The true story of a Japanese Akita who saw his master to the train station every morning as he left to teach at a university. Every day he waited till he caught the train and every day he knew what time the train arrived home and there he was waiting like a good boy for his owner.

One day the guy died of a heart attack at Uni but his faithful dog spent the rest of his life living around the train station and at the usual time he waited in his usual place every day until he died looking and waiting for his master to return.

In Japan at that station theres a statue in the place where he waited.

I have a Siberian husky called Hachi and it's short for Hachiko.

Yep. The way the filmed it was so powerful too. Little stories of the families involved in the lead up to it. Then when it happened the teacher seeing through the window that they had no hope of getting out of the way and just getting all the children to hide under their desks. I can't even imagine.

Omg! Not so much the disappearing itself but seeing him silently come up with the idea of sacrificing himself, and then feigning excitment and executing his plan without the girl suspecting! It is also super poingant in a sympbolic way (can't move on in life without letting old parts of you die). Yes I sobbed.. I was in the cinema too

But my absolute worst, nothing bittersweet about this one:

2. Being bad at maths

Agree it’s the knowing it actually happened I think for me, imaging what they must have gone through as victims, survivors and family. Whether that be things from my history timeline that I remember like Hillsborough, Rwanda, Yugoslavia or earlier.

The true story of a Japanese Akita who saw his master to the train station every morning as he left to teach at a university. Every day he waited till he caught the train and every day he knew what time the train arrived home and there he was waiting like a good boy for his owner.

One day the guy died of a heart attack at Uni but his faithful dog spent the rest of his life living around the train station and at the usual time he waited in his usual place every day until he died looking and waiting for his master to return.

In Japan at that station theres a statue in the place where he waited.

I have a Siberian husky called Hachi and it's short for Hachiko."

This film broke me seriously i never cry and after this i couldnt breath and was in bits to the point i had to go wake K up!

I was going to say the saddest part when Hachi was dying and he imagined meeting up once again with Richard Gere's character but I'm a bit emotional today and couldn't.

Jesus. I have a list.

Not a film, but The Body episode of Buffy. Gut wrenching. Also the final episode of season 2, when Buffy has to kill Angel to save the world, just as he got his soul back. I never cried at that until I watched Angel the TV show, and now I do.

The ending of Ghost gets me every time. The specific moment when Patrick Swayze looks at the heavenly lights, then turns back to Demi Moore and his face is so happy then drops as he realises that he has to leave her. Getting teared up just thinking about it!

Me too, absolutely sobbing mess

I cannot watch the Green Mile as I get that way too - I think it is because of the pure in justice of it all.

Beaches is my favourite movie of all time and I cry every, single bloody time I watch it. Agreed about the scene in Forrest Gump with Jenny;s grave too.

I have avoided Marley and Me as I know he dies so could not cope. Same with the Boy in the Striped Pjamas. I cannot watch Schindlers list again either.

I was more ok with Iron Man dying that I thought I would be tbh.

The Aberfan disaster traumatised me from being a kid. Even though I was born after it as a 9 yr old, at school in drama, we were given the task to create a movement to music piece to depict this disaster!!! Don't think THAT would happen in schools today!!

That’s in the book and I was hoping it would be in the movie, it’s such a striking reference. It’s a memory of the survivors from that day a young girl just wandering around, no one seeming to notice her, not even the Germans. No one knows who she was or what happened to her

For me it's a scene in the french double bill Jean de florette and mannon de source

It appears in the second film when the old man sits on a village bench with an old woman who'd been the best friend of the womsn whod been the love of the life of the old man.

In his youth hed been in the army and had never recieved the letters from his girlfriend informing him she was pregnant.

Not hearing from him and failing to abort her child she"d met someone else from a neighbouring village and raised the baby when it arrived as his own.

It was the slow realisation of what had happened that tugs at your heart.

For the baby had become the hunchback (gerald deperdeaux) novice rabbit breeder whom the old man and his nephew had contrived to get off the land so the nephew could obtain it to grow his carnations as it had better soil.

Their contriving had infact killed his own son.

The hunchbscks daughter was infact his own grand daughter..

The film s closing scenes show him spending his days and nights just trying through all weather to get a glimpse of his granddaughter and child.

Realising hed lost every thing he basically willed himself to die in his sleep.

The bench scene is heart wrenching

There are two moments which get me emotionally.

One is from the 70's TV series, Hill Street Blues, when at morning roll call one day, the Precinct Captain reads out the death of their Sergeant Esterhaus.

The reality was the actor who played the character had been ill for some time and his death in real life was ironically just prior to that episode where his death had occurred.

The cast were told of the reality just before the scene was filmed, so the shock and reactions of all was VERY REAL!

The second clip, is near to the end of the film "Backdraft" when the lead character's funeral starts, with the Pipe Band playing their music ahead of the funeral march and cortege, which segway's into the graveside scenes. Pipes & Drums music is always emotional to me, but in the context of that scene too, I'm a blundering wreck afterwards!

Castaway,,,,,when Wilson drifts off into the distance, Tom Hanks tries to catch him up but just can't.

But after that, Wilson is just forgotten. Never mentioned again.

Ok.he was an imaginary friend but,he probably sustained Hanks life and sanity through his dark and lonely days.

I would like to see a sequel where Tom Hanks devotes the rest of his life to scouring the oceans in search of his lost friend.

(although TBH that would be a rubbish movie).
