So are you gonna wait for a guy called Boris to tell you it’s finished ? ... we have to be precautious and weary at all times. But there won’t be a date to say that COVID Is over , it’s up to you at your own risk it’s your life at the end of the day.

Because the way there talking about how spreadable it is , it takes one person to restart it all again , I personally think we’re all gonna catch it / caught it .. and it’s down to the immune systems

Virus section is perfect for this. No need to discuss it again in the Lounge.

In the middle

It’s not really news worthy anymore, we are used to the waiting in line, wearing the masks etc, we’ve all calmed down now we can buy toilet roll again.

The media has moved on coz the footballs starting again doncha know

(This analogy may or may not be factual)

However you look at it, it's never going to go away. Viruses are not something that magically disappears which is why we have the flu season.

There are much worse viruses with much greater consequences, though harder to catch unless certain activities are undertaken...look at Africa and certain parts of the US today and even this country in the 80's.

Steps can be taken to reduce the spread, but another thing about viruses; they constantly mutate which is why a flu vaccine is given every year, because the mutation of flu last year will be different to this year's.

In fact, WHO and other health bodies identified that Coronavirus in Europe was a different mutation to what they had in India, Thailand, etc. which was also different to the States and, I believe that was different to Mexico.

Come the new flu season I can imagine a second wave of infection, again mutated; maybe weaker strain, maybe a stronger strain, who knows? But, this is something we now have to live with and come to terms with.

Undoubtedly the majority of us have been exposed to it some way as most who get it will never show symptoms - that's the case with most viruses and so to expect people to maintain this social distancing (here in Wales the rules are still quite stringent), mask wearing and all of these other things which are quite unnatural for human interaction - which viruses rely upon are not going to be upheld.

I'm in a high risk category and have been shielding for months and I'm bracing myself for shielding too be extended again if the numbers start to rise again. Giving Leicester's latest rise causing itself to be locked down and with London's R number back up to 1 (I wonder how that happened :-s ) along with this change to cold damp weather, I think we're on our way to round 2 where another lockdown could well be on the cards come flu season. That is, of course, unless a viable vaccine is found.
