After having spent the past couple of weeks straining my eyes drawing all sorts of lingerie the following question came to mind...

Ladies, when shopping for lingerie, are the patterns and motifs of the article a make or break factor in purchasing or not? Or is colour, comfort and cut / general design much more important?

The patterns would be so of interest to me, but sadly I’m limited to just trying to find something that fits and doesn’t garrotte me or leave me looking like a trussed pork roast.

All of the above - needs to be comfortable but sexy, turn your eye, stir your senses and make us feel good wearing it.... occasionally with a touch of bling ...... usually black!

I could maybe compromise on comfort slightly for a great design. Something that looked draw droppingly hot. It wouldn't be on that long that it would me a massive deal. Ideally, I want comfort and a great look.

For me the patterns don't really matter. It's about how good I would feel in them and if they would flatter what i want flattering and hide the bits I don't want folk to see.

If I like the pattern it's an added bonus but not essential as style counts more

I've worn attractive and stylish lingerie in the past and none of it was remotely comfortable or fitted at all well.

Now it's comfort every time apart from bras. No woman has ever found the holy grail...fits properly, utterly comfortable and traffic stopping sexy.

Both are important for me when I'm lingerie shopping, I normally send my male friends pics from the changing room and that helps me choose for outfits and events

Both are important for me when I'm lingerie shopping, I normally send my male friends pics from the changing room and that helps me choose for outfits and events

Gotta feel good as well as look good. I can't bear wearing stuff that is too restrictive or feels pokey or rough. Nice lines, well made and flattering patterns are good.

Very occasionally it's worth suffering for the art.. only if it's going to be off pretty quickly

I disagree...they do not make lingerie...or one piece swimming costumes either...for tall women!

I’d say colour first, then pattern. If I didn’t like both of these, I wouldn’t try it on. Then the cut if it was just for show, but comfort then cut if I was actually going to wear it for a while.

Colour is what first interests me, I'm not a big fan of patterns so tend to avoid those.

The fit is important as well, I've got top heavy boobs and certain styles really do nothing for them at all. Comfort is important as well but generally thanks to the joys of massive tits and general chub, I have to choose between comfort and style (not looking at Playful Promises who are amazing).

I've never really bought "lingerie" as such until recently but yeah, there's a market out there for decent stuff that suits various body shapes.

I look for well made, mainly classy lingerie that is pleasing to my eye. I usually go for red, black and white, not fussed about patterns or comfort.

Colour will always catch my eye but I like some structure and a good comfort fit, I love lace and silk but some cheaper items can irritate my skin so quality of fabric is important, the pattern of the material especially lace is an afterthought. Obviously you want to look good in it and you know as soon as you’ve tried it on.

I bought a bra this week just because I loved the python print on it. It's a thing of beauty.

It arrived and is massive, I could fit a weekly shop in it. I'm returning it and I've got a smaller one arriving hopefully on Saturday.

The style is lovely, but it was the pattern that grabbed me.

It depends what I'm planning to wear it under. Some patterns show through clothes and I don't like that. I like smooth lines.

The size and shape are most important. I only found out what style of bra suited me recently. It's really technical. It all depends where your boobs sit on your chest. So I sometimes see beautiful things but I know they won't be right.

Anyone wanting to check the size or style they need I recommend checking out Boob or bust either on FB or their web page they are brilliant.
