If you send a message to a lady or a couple and the answer is a no in some shape or form, how do you like to be told?

A delete ?

A simple, no thank you ?

An explanation ?

I guess I do a mixture of these depending on the message received.

As I'm sat here saying no, No, NO I'm just wondering how you guys feel?

Think I'm going soft!

A reply is nice, but not expected. Having a couples profile helps you see it from the other side.

Couples and woman get so many messages!

I try to reply if the messages are nice, particularly if effort has gone in, I feel bad if I dont.

I think it's entirely the recipients prerogative how they respond, or not. I welcome all responses, and don't get upset about those who choose not to.

A simple no thank you is perfect. Everyone knows where they stand.

I prefer a simple 'No not for me/us' than no reply and a delete of the message.

All over the place! Northwesr, , Southwest

I expect nothing. If I get nothing, no problem. If I receive a reply saying no that's fine as well. I don't do follow up replies to "no" replies. I log it in that person's profile notes and move on.

All my messages are polite but replies are in the minority, I don’t take it personally if they’re not interested x

"Not for us thank you, I find that's ok.

After the thousandth time it knocks your confidence a little "

Sometimes that's why I pop an explanation in, like if they are to far away, because we have a family commitments, a shame as sometimes they are HOT!! X

Is this not the best way? Effort should always be rewarded and it's a nice boost for guys that are genuine if they are straight up about it, even if it's negative

Some kind of acknowledgement is good because it might not be they don't like us. It could be that they don't have time or it got deleted with other messages and they didn't spot it. A "thanks but no thanks" helps us know what they really think.

But we don't begrudge anybody who's not interested in us and we understand if they have other priorities than reply to people they are not interested in - there could be many and they don't owe us a reply any more than anybody else.

A polite no thanks is always appreciated. Keep it simple or you'll end up getting unwanted replies from ppl telling you that you've got them all wrong....

Got to agree with others, a polite 'sorry your not for me/us' is good for me. However i understand people may get alot of messages and sometimes just delete them for ease rather then replying to them all.

Dont like the fact i often see statuses from people who have to put up with others who cant take no for an answer. No need for any sort of abuse etc.

Very true, I need to keep on top of my box

But some days I'm just meh, I cannot face replying incase I get crap back

A delete works for me if I message.

Then again, some do mass delete their messages so doesn't always mean they're not interested. Like with a couple I was speaking with who deleted my latest message, and so I messaged saying oh well then and they must not be interested. Turns out the male of the couple mass deletes messages every now and then and they are still interested in a meet. So, yeah, just something to be aware of I guess

There and to the left a bit

This doesn't particularly apply to me as I don't send random messages "blind" to people and use the site a little differently but if that was the way I approached things I can honestly say however the recipient chose to respond would be fine - totally understand all the reasons for not replying (to protect against abuse, to save opening a wormhole through future filters etc) so would accept it if that happened.

A polite "no thanks you're not for me/us" would of course be nice, and met with no more than a polite "thanks for letting me know" in response.

I don't think there's any need to go into any level of detail though as that has the potential to either hurt or cause abusive responses, or further discourse as to why that reason is wrong.

They all pretty much mean the same thing to me so I really would not be bothered!

Even if it was a mass delete. Couples and women browse too and if they really wanted you they would find you.

I don’t send those kind of messages these days, but whatever way they choose to respond is ok with me. If they are abusive or disparaging in any way, I would just report them, so even that doesn’t bother me.

Delete is the worst, you never know, they may have pressed the button in error.....so should you try and contact them again or not?

A polite no thanks is nice

Best is some feedback, maybe there is something I can do about it. Once someone referenced something on my profile, which wasn't right, but when I checked, there it was, a typo, so i was able to correct it, and make sure i got the right matches.

Great question, thanks for asking....
