Martha Kearney has just said they aren't sure how they are going to film the re_iew of the invisible art show.

Don't know if they're charging entrance but if they are and it costs, say, £10, the I think people should hand over a purely conceptual but invisible £10 note and walk right in

Very good. I think there is an £8 charge, it's been a few days since I saw the blurb on this.

At £8 it's still probably better value than looking at some tarts unmade beds.

Still, i'm divorced now.

Siren and I had this discussion last week about this so called 'art'. She thinks it is art because it means something to someone but I argued that it was a pile of crap.

There was a documentary years ago, where they set up some art critics.

They hung some pics on a wall in a gallery, the pics were just random streaks of colours.

The critics were brought in, and told they would be meeting the artist, so could they critique the work?

One by one they all started banging on about how wonderful the pics were, deep, powerful, full of angst and rage.... blah blah, you get the picture!

Then they bought the "artist" out, ...... a fekkin monkey!

I think that about sums up some of this "modern art".

The problem with art critics is that they are so wrapped up in their little bubble world that any outside influences on what art is or should be is lost on them. They spend their lives in the company of each other discussing how wonderful half a cow is, or 10,000,000 fecking beans spread across a large area is 'beautifully constructed' that they are oblivious to normal people who visit galleries and end up asking, "Where the nice landscape I came to see then?"

If I decided to do some 'art' the last person I'd show it to is a fookin art critic as I'd want a realistic appraisal.

See, for me, the pictures I appreciate the most are the ones of people that look like they are photographs. Thats real skill.

Skill and art are entirely different things.
