I'm happy in my own skin & company, but given the choice I prefer the person I am when I'm with him. I am very much an introvert, happy with my own company in normal circumstances, and sometimes even craving some alone "me" time. But the lockdown made me realise how much I miss my colleagues and the service users, how much they are important part of my life. Not to mention my partner, who I used to see every weekend but was unable to see during lockdown until the "social bubble" was introduced. | |||

"My roles in life give me purpose and identity and allow me to many aspects of myself to flourish. Mother, friend, daughter lover, colleague. I'm a whole person on my own.. but as humans, we naturally rely on interaction and relationship to regulate eachother on a bio chemical level. I totally thrive on others to help to make me a well rounded person. I work best when im part of a tribe or team. I bounce off others ideas, experiences, knowledge and energy. I also love retreating into myself, solitude by choice and delving deep into myself. Ultimately, I am the mistress of my own destiny and have all my own resources within me. Do believe it takes a village to raise a child. And as an adult I think it's important to choose your village wisely. Nobody is an island "I like this saying, and I think we have lost a bit of that villageness to our lives. I was probably a bit dismissive with my earlier comments about being mostly a loner, when you think about just who you interact with daily, who you need to and who you want to, especially with the kids and showing them more ideas and viewpoints than just your own. The wider community all helps with offering them different things and me I guess. | |||

Some people are quite happy in their own company. Sometimes I wish I was. Before lockdown I'd always be at one of my friends houses when I wasn't in work.
