What makes a good story .

What gets your attention?

Is it simply a title or someone you follow on here.

Ive done a couple and had some decent feedback, but the last nothing. Is it just about posting at the right time.

Attention here is partly luck, I'm afraid. I advertise when I post new parts to mine, but as a woman it's probably different.

I enjoy some character development and a sense of plot, not just a scene for the purposes of gratuitous description of fucking. And I dislike sex scenes that are anatomical, too crass, or too perfect. Sex is messy, human, emotional, etc. Perfect characters also put me right off.

To keep me reading the text has to be well structured, paragraphs, sentences, spelling and grammar on point. Occasional mistakes fine. No plot holes or obvious errors.

Concise description, good sentence construction and decent prose. The story could be the best in the world and without that it'll bomb.

For me it needs to be believable and have a decent plot.

i dont claim to be a writer as such, but do enjoy sharing my thoughts or fantasies. I do try and develop a plot and characters.

Oh no, I'm not looking for professional standards. I don't deliver them myself. But this is what keeps me reading, or not. If it helps.

I like a good bit of back story, atmosphere and words that take me right there right then. Raw crude descriptions do little for me. I prefer to have my imagination teased with charged words and build up.

My thoughts exactly, the sexiest organ in the body is the brain. Stimulate that and your well on your way.

My initial reaction would be to write paragraphs rather than a list of sentences, it affects the flow a little, because it’s broken down a bit too much of that makes sense?

Ooh. Yeah I was talking in general terms. OP, paragraphs really help.

I had a look. The formatting is jarring, as Hippychick says.

I always feel my lack of computer keyboard skills are a issue. Even writing this isnt easy for me . Unfortunately im of an age ,just too old to be taught yet young enough to have too.

Getting something to flow isnt that easy.
