Ok for those who have asked an are u sure of lamp post pissing and its meaning it's kinda like a soft pissing on a lamp post scent marking and saying his one belongs to me. So I the case of how I'm saying it would be if a woman likes a guy on fab she would make it rather obvious to other women and users that this guy is for her to try and put others off.

I hope that clears up the confusion

As the supreme Shameless Perverted Attention Seeking Whore I am, I would like it known I am hereby peeing on all the lampposts. I'm putting flags in and claiming everyone.

Or not. Because actually it's a bit daft. Why not just flirt like mad and be all privately smug when someone else flirts with someone who wants you?

This.

We do flirt with everyone because it's light hearted and fun. And it's good to make others feel good. However if we genuinely want you, you will be told in private and that's where discussions of actual meets will happen.

I tak to lots of people and the forums is full of flirty and funny posts. Doesn’t mean to say I’m planning a mass orgy with everyone I talk to! Plan on meeting one person and seeing what happens. When I see him flirting with other ladies, it really doesn’t worry me as he’s not my property!

Is the opposite also true ... for example, is refusing to give a nice guy a post-meet verification a form of lamppost pissing?

( assuming the guy is god-of-love otherwise ).

Like following on threads and chipping into attempts of flirting with other people for example? or making friends with girls who they fancy so they can nose about what's happening? Or there is a different name for these actions..

You see this behaviour everywhere though. In the workplace, at school, among groups of friends. There will always be those, not just women, who claim a special relationship with certain popular people, they make it clear that they have private conversations nobody else is privy to, private jokes etc. Usually the lamppost is not aware it's being pissed on but sometimes it positively encourages it

You see it in the forums but I wouldn’t say I see a lot of ‘hands off he/she’s mine’ and more a general appreciation which is good. I could be wrong and reading it entirely the wrong way but that’s how I see it.

I don’t think it happens so much these days, but I am not on the forums as much as I once was so wouldn’t notice I guess.

I do think there is a flip side to this however as the “lamppost” may have over-committed with promises in private messages that aren’t born out in their forum interactions.

Strange one really, I have never been one for “ownership” and I am not sure how that develops via purely virtual interactions

I've been a member of internet forums since the late 90s and very early 2000s. This sort of ownership develops very quickly on the net. It can rapidly become intense. You'd see little "slip ups" where someone would "accidentally ' use a person's real name, refer publicly to a private conversation or mention something that occurred between them but go on to say it was their little secret.

It's all very subtle

There and to the left a bit

Lets put it this way, one of the first things I noticed about the forums was the depth markings around the edge - I initially wondered what they were for and soon realised it was so you knew if you were at the shallow end or deep end of the pissing pool

Personally it's none of my business who others are meeting so long as it doesn't affect me (which it shouldn't) and on the occasions when I know someone I have met, or meet, is meeting someone else I'll wish them a good time, much as I would a mate going on a night out.

I have occasionally been asked about or had it commented on that I've met someone and it gets ignored.

Have come across more so in chat groups before a MnG.

Met a guy for coffee and halfway through our coffee he told me that another lady had warned him off me. And another guy told me the same a few weeks later. No idea what the lady's issue with me is. So now if a guy messages me that has met her I just avoid. Not here for drama

That's awful. A friend of mine had that happen very frequently to her in the past. If I were contacted out of the blue by someone telling me to not meet "x" because of "y" i'd politely tell them to mind their own business. Totally uncalled for and it's behaviour I class in the fruitcake category.

This.

I'm not of a jealous disposition, but I only sleep with people I like, and I'm glad to see people I like are having a good time.

Of course, if they cancel on me to meet someone else that's an entirely different matter, but as long as they turn up when we've agreed to meet, what happens at other times is really none of my damn business!

In terms of being dragged into other people's drama, I find it easy to avoid. It helps that A) I don't go for forum bods on the whole; B) I'm not one of the cool kids; and C) I'm not attractive enough for other women to feel threatened by me.

I never pledge exclusivity to anyone and they haven't to me. I have no issue with people meeting other people.

That said, I'm pretty insecure so if they met someone and then rubbed it in my face, I'd probably feel pretty crap and that would be the the end of that. It's one of the reasons I keep verifications relatively hidden and I keep who and what I'm up to private.

I've met a few men from the forums over the years and I've never had any drama. I trust they haven't as a result of meeting me either.

On a mooch

"Lets put it this way, one of the first things I noticed about the forums was the depth markings around the edge - I initially wondered what they were for and soon realised it was so you knew if you were at the shallow end or deep end of the pissing pool

Personally it's none of my business who others are meeting so long as it doesn't affect me (which it shouldn't) and on the occasions when I know someone I have met, or meet, is meeting someone else I'll wish them a good time, much as I would a mate going on a night out.

I have occasionally been asked about or had it commented on that I've met someone and it gets ignored."

Spot on as usual

"I think with lpp it's about knowing your target. It's about the two of you, not anyone else. Lpp from unwanted ppl is awful, but when it's someone spesh it can be quite nice....

That's actually so true.

And Nippy, that's not me pissing on you.... "

A little bit of wee escaped when I read you'd quoted me Estella, like an excited puppy....

"It can also be two friends having flirty banter. See that a lot on here

Assumed it was just that because the etiquette is to completely ignore each other forums once you’ve held hands "

Or understand that yes he is currently talking to 10 different ladies at the same time and planning meets with all them. "
