I've never really been a big believer but I once worked with someone who was and she did my birth chart. To be fair to her it was interesting reading and there was nothing in it that I disagreed with. Lucky guess or not, it was entertaining enough I spose.

Too bloody cloudy down here to see it! But no, I don't believe in astrology. To imprecise and vague for my liking. Now tarot, that's interesting.

The planets move and it was interesting to see the size comparison at distance but do i think it has any effect on our lives? No not really but I am always fascinated by those who take it seriously.

The thing that I don't get about astrology is how can 1/12th of the population always have exactly the same kind of day?

They don't and can't, and what you read in the newspapers is not Astrology.

i think what diamond was refering to was astronomy as she did mention the transit of venus... if she had meant astrology she would probably have mentioned russell grant passing the sun.

sorry if i'm wrong here diamond

I maen come-on get serious,,,,,pffft

Astrological signs are based on nothing more than arbitrary Zodiac symbols drawn by people who also believed light from stars came from the vents on burning chariot wheels.....

Its utter-utter bullshit !!!

Well thats what I believe anyway !!!

Haha Yeah Wishy I predicted you “might” do that, but as you can see, I've punctuated my reply with a sublime ambiguity reminiscent of the charlatans who write the darn things in the first place….!.

I know little about the stars, give or take aconstellation or two...

But if I live forever I will never forget the night I was in a field, just outside a village in Swizerland... A cloudless summer night with the Milky Way on black velvet right across the sky...

I was out walking with two female colleagues who were Chinese...

In the total silence one started to sing an oriental song... The other joined in and they were singing to each other as we all looked up at the stars...

The song apparently was about two lovers condemned to never meet again till the Milky Way went out...

If ever anything deserved the word "Awesome", then whatever is out there deserves it.

Just mind boggling.

And just what is space expanding into?

My interpretation of the universe is that it exists in every possible direction infinately. How can it be expanding if it already occupies everywhere simultaneously.

I think what the boffs are trying to tell us is that the force that resulted from the initial Big Bang that created our known part of the universe is still continuing in an outward direction. That area of expansion is not 'The Universe' though, just an infinitesimal part of it.

Here's the real brain cruncher though, if our 'Universe' is infinitesimal then our planet doesn't even register on any stellar measuring stick which makes us even more insignificant. Imagine how an ant would feel if it could comprehend distance and space.

A splendid example of the arrogance borne of ignorance so rife among the people who contribute to these forums.

It's not about belief it is about studying the evidence for and against the validity of the subject and unless you have done that you are not in a position to have a view one way or another.
