Why do women block?

Jump to newest

Recently I was chatting with someone and she said that she would like to chat again, so great I thought and I just went to text her again only to find that I've been blocked And I have also noticed that I have been blocked by forums users who I haven't chatted with.

I just can't get my head around the reasoning why women are hitting the block button.

Edinburgh

I wouldn’t worry about it... there are lots of reasons for it.

* some people change their mind

* some people use it as a filter

* some people are not who they say they are

* some people are just mean

Etc.

Move past it and don’t dwell... won’t change anything. Find someone new to chat to and repeat.

Worthing

Because they can...no reason needed! Move on, there are others out there.

i noticed a woman blocked me on the forums today, never see her before so no idea why.

I block mainly because I hate getting abuse back once I've said no thankyou. I dont like doing it though x

I never use to be a blocker...

But now I find if a guy constantly keeps messaging me, after I've politely said "No thank you"... He's blocked.

And anyone that has asked me to meet for sex during lockdown... Blocked

Other than that I'm nice

As long as it’s not 28,000 odd Fabbers blocking you, I wouldn’t worry too much about it

Outskirts of Cardiff just off the M4

We are very lucky that the vast majority of our messages are polite with the odd bit of ‘trying their luck - cheekiness’. However, there are always the odd few that ruin it for everyone, as they either won’t take no for an answer and keep messaging or they’ll make a rude remark that isn’t warranted.

Because we can. I use the block button all the time. Saves those profiles im not interested in from keep popping up in searches.

Funny story. Last year I was looking for a female only social, just for friendship, and posted a thread about it. Another user, female, said there was a thread already in South East forum and I should jump on that, which I did.

Long story short I followed the thread, added my interest, tried to message the lady of the couple who was organising this event and found I was blocked.

Never spoke to this couple.

Never met this couple.

I added a comment on the thread about wanting to find out more about the event but couldn't as I was blocked, very tongue in cheek, very sarcastic (which doesn't come across via text I know) and said basically everyone enjoy the event and peace out.

The couple then replied to my comment saying I should still attend the event, giving others permission to tell me where it was etc, to which I told them, very politely of course, that I would rather 'sh*it on my hands and clap'

People are weird but that's our right as people.

Yeh it happens a lot on here, just shrug your shoulders and move on. It happened to me a few weeks ago, I got a wink from a female, so I messaged to say hi.. She blocked me.

Fab unfortunately has many 'less than fab' people on it. Thick skin is required.

I block if someone messages me privately from a post i made on a thread

Or if someone has messaged me more than once after telling them I'm not interested

Or if they are being a dick in the forums

Only used the block button once. Probably been blocked many more

Way it is. I try not to be offensive. Just don't have a filter fitted at birth

Calderdale innit

No idea why she blocked you op

I block pests or those who ask to meet at the moment or some on my updates due the statuses they post.

I have been blocked on forum, maybe they didnt like the look of me or thought we wouldn't get on etc.

Try not to dwell on it, I'm sure we have all been blocked at one time or another

Scunthorpe

Women, and everyone else, block for all sorts of reasons.

I only block if they are rude, persistent or say things I am uncomfortable with in their message.

Have very few problems, so a small block list.

I chatted briefly to a guy on here and it was fine then a few days later he posted a series of frankly vile statuses that really put him in a new light for me... so I blocked him to save him the effort of potentially offending me in person. Not to say that the OP may have done such a thing but that's my example of why.

Because they can is the only answer. And someme strange folk do occasionally do it in a vain and slightly backwards attempt to bully or for attention or to passively aggressively let you know they don't like you. Regardless of motive, IGNORE AND MOVE ON is indeed the only advice.... ...don't let the shit drag you down, be yourself and let others be themselves too....
