Agreed. And if he continues to improve his game, one day he could join Chelsea.

The response from Therese cofee was so tone deaf... I think the government will back down on this one

Premier League footballers have, and rightly so, come in for a lot of stick for their behaviour in the past. That's one of the reasons why this campaign is so impressive.

He has worked to get where he is today, and his Mother has struggled but didn't allow that to stop wanting to get behind her son and help him make the best life he can. So big thumbs up for his Mother too!

Equally, Manchester United are to be applauded for taking him on early to help him realise his dream. Clearly, Marcus is a loyal and well principled young man who I suspect will stay with ManU for a very long time, if not his entire career.

Lastly, Marcus Rashford himself is an example to everyone, not just football players. He's done well for himself, he hasn't forgotten where he came from, and wants to see as many people as possible not be disadvantaged. He's doing well, and is using his success to give back.

That is precisely the sort of conduct that the Honours list should recognise, rather than "Services to..." for being famous.

Well done that man!

Not sure why anybody would begrudge children a meal but it seems some do.

I think Marcus has comported himself well.

As a big United fan i've always loved marcus now however i love him even more for everything he has done, i was in a similiar situation has him as a child and my dad did everything he could for me and i'll always be thankful, what marcus has done will go down in history of how a Football player beat the tories and made them change there minds and make a full U-Turn, what pisses me off tho is when they made the U-Turn and made out it was there idea... there a bunch of clowns the Tories

I think what Marcus Rashford has done is a good thing but been a Cockney Red you would expect me to say that. When I went to school if your parents were unemployed you got a free school meal.I just hope the children who receive a free school meal don’t get picked on and bullied like in my day.

He has done well, personally as a parent like most I think all kids no matter from what family they come from all should get free school meals

I think its fantastic that the government has backed down.

Some children only get Hot nutritious meals at school.

I understand the sentiment, but have to disagree. If you can afford it we should pay for the meals and then the money can be used in other areas for those that really need it

When I was in school it was called a cambod .

Only the poor got them and they had a token they'd keep and hand over at dinner time .. was kinda embarrassing how they (the school and authority) handled it
