But the thread was about forgotten classic songs not forgotten acts - even the biggest acts of the era can have songs that are forgotten or rarely played on the radio etc as my list clearly shows

To take Madness (biggest selling singles act in the UK of the 80s) as an example when they're played on the radio you can pretty much guarantee it'll be one of about 5 or 6 songs that are played - their other 15 or so singles of the decade are pretty much forgotten by most
