Shifting those lumps!

I've been outta action for some months, and have gained some weight, I've now got the date for me back op (28th this month) and have started dieting in earnest.

I can't do a right lot of excercise just yet but am desperate to shift the weight just above me bum! I dunno what ya call that bit, but it's not really gonna shift itself.

Can someone please recommend an excercise that can do this? I've got some damage to my right leg nerves making that leg weaker which rules out some moves.

Help

Swimming .. it's the finest exercise there is ....delicious ,the water around you supports all your injuries and you can just build up your strength , fitness and energy , plus lose wieght , the back stroke will help you no end , and you can rest your arms and just kick your feet or flippers to move through the water ...you'll look like a Goddess whithin weeks

I don't know what that area is called but I agree that swimming is good if you have injuries. Or even better join an aqua aerobics class. I have a really bad back but I can do all sort of cardio and toning in the water and don't feel a thing (just the day after I feel the muscle ache, which obviously is a good thing).

You just do your own pace and if there are any moves your back won't allow you to do, you leave it.

Best of luck!

think she gets that - she was asking for ideas to accomodate current injuries

i agree swimming will be the best for you OP as it doesnt require high impact on your legs

oh I forgot to mention, if you decide to go to an Aqua aerobics class, make sure you tell the instructor beforehand about your health situation (if they won't ask you - mine did straight away). Obviously they can also advise you which exercise can tone up that area you'd like to work on.

Ps. Wear a very supportive bathing suit if you don't want them boobs to make an escape when jumping up and down in the water lol

May i recommend Mushy's patented Sex position number 4 for weight loss.

We get in the doggy position, i give yer arse a good slap and together we ride the ripples for 5 minutes. And repeat.

I go twice a week to the classes. I usually arrive a bit early and swim for 10min, then 1 hr of aerobics and then I'm ready for a coffee and a bite lol

I sometimes go swimming in between the classes and would do some of the leg and bum exercises as well as they're pretty easy. But I prefer the class as there's music and usually a good laugh. It also makes you work harder. I absolutely love it! Only started a few months ago but my chiro says the difference in my muscles is very obvious.

I was going to suggest a good brisk walk but given your nerve damage, I am not sure that's a good idea. I started to walk to work and back (8 miles per day) a couple of years ago, coupled with shifts in a pub, helped me lose about a stone

Blimey, well done you. I'll be getting physio to help with the leg, and am planning to move closer to work hopefully this year, so that may be an option later for me
