Old thread apologies !!

But recently had a lot of people contact from quite far destinations, and post lockdown it might not be viable (because of ghosting likelihood) ; so got me thinking, what’s the furthest someone has gone for a meet (pre lockdown)?

Was it worth it, and any horror stories or great romances!?

I wouldn’t meet someone for a one off so I wouldn’t be interested in someone too far away. Travelling for hours and hours isn’t really sustainable for me as I have a busy social life. I would never get to see them or I would have to kiss goodbye to being the social butterfly that I am with my gal pals

from Home Counties to Middle Earth

I've flown a few hundred miles (more than once, and in different directions).

And yes, worth every moment.

We're still good friends

Suppose it depends if it’s a one off or more . If we’d of previously met them at a club or something then we wouldn’t see the problem in travelling. We wouldn’t travel too far out for a random one off meet unless we arranged a few days break in the area around the meet

London/Essex... ish... Romford to be exact

Travelled to Glasgow once. I was invited the day before New Year's Eve. We had built up a friendship online and thought why not? It was a trip fraught with difficulty but I managed to get there just after midnight. The sex wasn't great as I had to endure the longest coach journey and was shattered. The next day her kids returned home and were a nightmare for her to handle. Im not sure what else happened but something had rattled her. This made her very emotional and embarrassingly I struggled to understand her emotional Glaswegian accent! She was just ranting away and I could only nod and smile in the best reassuring way i could which seemed to be ineffective. We just kept drinking the next day and waited for her friend to drop off an eighth which I was praying for to put me out of my misery. Drinking and smoking did little to soothe her mood. I worked out it was something to do with the kids' father being the issue. Beyond that all I could hear was Rab C Nesbitt talking to me. I simply had no idea what the fuck she was saying for the entirety of my remaining time with her. And oddly she didn't seem to notice this lol.

London

Our 1st meet was Dor coming up from Devon to London. 2nd was we met halfway in Bristol. Had a fantastic weekend together, neither of us regret putting the miles in, now he lives with me in London. And we have the most amazing relationship ever.

Yeah... I've brushed up on my Glaswegian since then

Hard to say. It used to be far easier to build up a vibe with someone online personally. And even then, the mask slipped with her and I could not reconcile the online version of her with the offline reality. Never say never, but... Yeah I'm not inclined to do so... Er... Are you offering an invite? I may consider! Haha
