This is a general question for you handsome rugged vikings.

I need recommendations for the best beard care products....my very much better half has grown the most majestic sex-ass beard in the lockdown (covo-beard) ( i love beards if you hadn't guessed )

And I'm looking for gift ideas to keep it soft and healthy.

I use Bulldog cheap supermarket brand. So available everywhere.

But have recently bought some items from a company called ‘the beard struggle!’

Shampoo, Oils, balms, heated brushes all very good. And smells very good

Well worth a look.

My wife bought me some beard balm from a company called hawke, custard cream flavour. Smells awesome

I've grown a magnificent beard during lockdown. It gets no special treatment, just washed daily in the shower.

I have no intention of keeping the beard, so won't be buying oils, balms, etc.

Well I've got an authentic ginger beard.. Usually have my mates take the piss out of me for it. Apparently its a bonus for the laides. I! Yet to see much evidence of that though lol

Never trim on the day of a meet,

Simple body oils are good (grape nut etc) with woody essential oils like frankincense.

NHS "MyTrusty" oil with neroli rosemary and bergamot is great.

Applying before a shower allows you to soften and wash through excess.

Watch out for buttered toast! Scent of old yak butter is a definite way to upset the Valkyrie

[Picks up axe, examines edge deliberately] Enjoy, but tell anyone I told you and you will never reach Valhalla...

Loreal beard shampoo, cos I'm worth it!

It's not cheap, but it's very good and keeps the beard quite soft.

Balm from mobros, they do a little selection for about £20.

Invest in a wooden comb, cuts down on static.

Depends what effect you're going for, and how the beard behaves. Moroccanoil is the absolute best oil I've found for a super-soft shiny beard. Smells of candyfloss too. Not the most manly or fancy-gift looking stuff though, if you're after something that looks all vikingy and fancy.

If you're after something that's got a little hold as well as conditioning, the absolute best beard balm I've tried is "Honest Amish". Really good stuff.

For stuff that looks awesome and smells AMAZING, there's a company called Grave Before Shave that have a range of awesome scents (the Bay Rum scent is insanely good) but I haven't been able to find a UK stockist for years, so shipping from America makes it far too expensive for the likes of me.
