I didn’t sleep much last night after too much wine and have woken up feeling broken and ancient

What things about a woman make us look older?

Only thing that makes you look older, is worrying over societal pressure about age and perceived milestones.

There is beauty in gaining experience and making mistakes. There is definitely beauty in age, stretch marks and liver spots.

Omg I miss hugs from busty late 40/50 mums! Just rest my head on their chest for life!

There's a lot of nice things about a mature lady so I think it can be a positive thing getting older...

Confidence, conversation, tend to make more effort to dress well etc

It's cruel that confidence comes with age.

I wish I could go back in time and have a word with my 20 year old self don't you!

Me too - I didn't like myself much and missed out on so much because I was self conscious.

I was just a bit of a bumbler when it came to chatting up girls,

Also spent far to much time drinking with my mates in old boys boozers ..

I think it is more ones demeanour..for man and woman..if we feel old then that is what we project..our shoulders slump, our walk can be lazy, without that vitality and confidence..youth is as much, if not more, about how we feel.I know some very sexy people who many would consider old.

Why go back and tell those 20somethings what to do and what is coming. That’s who you were back then...they’d have felt pressured or shamed. And even a big reassuring hug wouldn’t have sunk in. The journey with confidence IS the ageing process...it’s just that society values the appearance of youth over the depth of confidence. Who you are now is BECAUSE of who you were then. And if you’re happier and more confident now, then you’re doing life right

I agree. I don't regret how I was at 20 or how I am now. It's life

It's easy to say don't sweat your age.

Mid 30's 40's own it. Hit 50 and I really don't like it.

I read an article this week about a hairdresser who dyes women's hair grey. He matches the tones of their grey roots and does the whole hair. It looks amazing.

. It's a funny old thing aging. For the most part I genuinely don't care but I'd be lying if I said I don't sometimes wish I had my younger body. When I out a bikini on for instance, I can see that I look OK but I can also see that my body is mature. We've been told for so long that the evidence of living long and gaining experience is not attractive that it can be difficult to be positive about it. Add to that the fact that "old" is used as an insult very often so is "menopausal" and its no wonder that even the most confident of us sometimes wish there was a magic tablet to make us look younger.

The alternative to aging doesn't appeal to me.

I am a pretty confident woman. I too will own it and grow old 'disgracefully' and with a big smile....still I'd take that pill
