"Have you tried turning it off and back on again?" Haven't got a choice it overheats and cuts out and switches itself off after a while

"My electric oven was overheating. Is set it to 160 and it would go to the max. I replaced the thermostat, well it was a limiter on this model. But I replaced it and the oven worked again. However the same problem has recurred about a week later. Anybody have any ideas? Voltage problem somewhere? " Best just get a takeaway hope you get it sorted

"Can only think thermostat but if it's happening again I don't know, any clues on Google" Nah Google just points to thermostat can't find anything about it happening again. Maybe the part was a bit dodgy, ordered off the internet rather than go to my usual parts shop, I'll replace again and see what happens.

Open the stat up and see why it failed sounds like the contacts are welding either a manufacturing fault or the heater element is pulling too much current, welding the contacts. you need to measure the on load current and compare it to spec Anybody have any ideas? Voltage problem somewhere? "

"Need to work out if genuinely overheating, or if it thinks it is overheating... That will guide you to the source. But by the time you get an engineer, risk replacing parts and creating a fire, you might as well just buy a new oven. My element was blown, i could have replaced it, but the oven needed an upgrade anyway. Hope you get it sorted" Yeah I tested it today, there was a burning smell and cut out after about 3 mins. So something definitely packed in. I've ordered a new one.
