I keep fancying a glass of nice chilled wine but I’m a real lightweight when it comes to wine and it has to be super sweet with no hint of that vinegar taste which is what most of them taste like to me ! I’ve not bought wine for years so can anyone suggest something light and sweet for me to try please?

That’s a fair point! Although some rosé wines are sweet, that might work.

Maybe not to your taste, but if you dont mind a bit of fizz, barefoot bubbly is very nice.

Actually try some of the lovely dessert wines that are about too, with some ice in you can enjoy those like a main course wine and they are super sweet and so many different tastes.

Wirral

Dessert wines are sweet, maybe a Muscat or a marsala, maybe a sweet sauternes. They aren't light though, they're quite heavy and sticky. What about a wine spritzer to lighten them up?

Personally if going for a more sweet wine, I'd stick with chardonnay, and probably Australian or New Zealand, and if you are a "lightweight", have ice, sparkling water and couple wedges of lime

A German white or sweet dessert wine might be good- although those are more like treacle. To be fair you don't see a huge amount of sweet wines in supermarkets.

Keep it cheap and simple like a Frascati or even a bottle of ( no laughing) Black Tower

Try Marsala, Italian dessert wine.

North West Leeds

German whites are on the sweeter side.

Italian wines tend to be lighter and generally around 11:5%

Frascati or if adding lemonade or soda then a Soave

The New World wines such as New Zealand, Australia, South Africa and South America can be heavier and higher in alcohol content

This is always presuming you are preferring a white wine

If Rosè then most are similar in alcohol content and many or most are quite sweet

If you fancy trying a lighter red wine then a Valpolicella may suit. Italian and generally 11 or 11:5%

Desert wines are sweet and can be heavy but if you really like a sweet wine this may be a good way to go

That would be my advice but it is naturally rather subjective
