"Most products can be traced fairly easily if you are interested in ethical sourcing it’s not hard, email them for a sourcing map. Made in.... can be misleading New Balance in Flimby import running shoe uppers and soles in separate boxes, press them together in a machine with glue already on the parts and simply add a made in England label. Then they go back into the original box for sale. The labels are also imported. " Thanks. It's going to be tricky buying ethically sourced products these days,

"If you want to avoid goods made in a particular country and buy elsewhere, surely the country that manufactures the product could have bought the raw materials from the country you want to avoid? I got into an argument with my brother yesterday lol" its all made in china

It's going to be tricky buying ethically sourced products these days, " It can be but you can research it, any listed company will provide info. Another to watch out for is big cheapish brands that claim ethical offshore sourcing like M&S , Next, Tesco Cherokee - those 3 are the worst but many others are similar. They set standards and monitor production standards and workers pay and conditions periodically but also have aggressive call-off contracts that make suppliers hold stock at their own cost. When they place an order for say 10,000 items at €1 per item, the supplier cannot possibly deliver on those terms but needs the order so they will accept and then secretly subcontract to smaller factories with much worse conditions
