When black men, especially, are being murdered? Don't see them standing up for Black lives.

This is why racial fetishes are problematic. You don't see us as people. When time comes to stand up, you scurry off into the shadows until it's safe to come back to hunt for the only thing you find of use to you from our bodies.

Honestly disgusting.

There are a number of us who are doing things outside of fab. Some dont want to publish it on here which is understandable. I dont think you tar all black men with the same brush, just because it's not portrayed on here. Black lives isnt something you stand up for. It's something that is continuous, irrespective when the media light in shine upon the subject or not.

There are always going to be people who are going to play to stereotypes. It's their choice, yes granted not for everyone. I wont be digging someone up for using it to there advantage.

I'm talking about those who actively fetishize black folk, not the folk themselves?

I can understand why black men use it to their advantage. I never said anything dismissing that.

They don’t speak up because racial fetishisation is based on racism.

Assuming this is general and not specific to fab, I feel this. But that’s why I can’t be friends with or sleep with people that don’t respect my humanity.

Manchester (she/her)

It's a difficult environment to stand up for social justice issues. Tbh many find it futile and go elsewhere. I try not to bring it up anymore, just join in.

I don't fetishise black men. But I am elsewhere listening to BAME voices, soul searching, trying to amplify them where I feel appropriate.
