Early Days but We have found a potential Venue and will start to consider the process to the getting everything lined up to get this venture going.

Please can you consider these questions:

1, would you consider trying a new Essex (south east) club?

2, Do you think it would work in Essex?

3, if you have ideas, experience or want to get involved please get in touch

4, what would like to see at a new Essex club?

southend

There have been various clubs in the Essex area over the years. All have failed for various reasons. Might be worth looking into why that is before investing.

I enjoy clubs, and would probably try one in Essex.

Be interested to hear what ones and what you though of them, have been a regular over different periods at Abfabs and Eureka, the club would be larger in terms of inside area than both Of those. Haven’t been to any Essex club

I think one with a big outside area would be good.

To be honest it doesn't matter how big it is, it has to make good use of the space and have brilliant facilities.

Get your licenses in order before laying out any money.

Essex councils are not favourable to singers clubs at all.

Good luck x

Good advice thanks, have heard Essex are not the best, let's see, are you able to give any more advice?

I guess a big question is can you get away without a sexual entertainment licence if you let people bring their own drink

If I'm totally honest I'm not sure right now would be the best time to open a club.

Start off by Googling Sex entertainment licence Essex and it brings up links to the local councils application.

OP.

Just to back-up what's been said already, ref licences.

Years ago, as part of a large commercial site in the Grays area of Essex, we had licensed facilities on site.

I was one of the Licensees, but just to achieve getting my Licence, I'd to jump through a lot of hoops.

Our solicitors who were based near Southend, said that gaining licensing approval in Essex was regarded as the most stringent of all the local Govt authorities in the UK.

Though I moved on elsewhere in 2007, I still have a few contacts there; little has changed Licensing wise.

The main aspect is once you get your Licensing approval, always maintain it 101%, as the officials will watch you very closely in your first year or so.

I found they will also closely incorporate Fire and Health & Safety rules in order for you to successfully gain their approval.

Good luck for when the time comes.

Wow that's exciting news. Am surprised your progress hasn't reached a bottleneck with the current coronavirus situation. Maybe the council are keen to see new ventures to stimulate the economy in whichever way they can?

Would you be hiring? I know my friend would love to work at a club.

A new club in Essex would be great, it would be good if there was some kind of day/spa facility as mentioned by another poster. I’ll be watching this thread with excitement.

I wish you all the luck in the world and look forward to keeping up with the updates

I totally love the club scene, so a new addition would be grear.

I wish you all the best with it. It would be good to look at other threads that have discussed opening clubs before as there may be inspirational ideas there for you.

I would suggest don't just think of a catchment area in and around there, I believe you will find people willing to travel from Suffolk and even Norfolk, those clubs that exist in the east are based more towards Northern and West Norfolk. It's a wasteland here since Mingles shut. Good luck on your endeavours.

Another Update

The proposed venue has been let to by another business so this will be put on hold for now.

If anyone wants to get involved with this project feel free to message me, it will go ahead but not for a year, so plenty of time for planning.

This project has already had a huge amount of time / effort invested into it, with at least 12 people consulted / involved in discussions, so we are confident it will be a viable business going forward but not at this time.

thanks for all the interest / wishes of success
