So on fab, most men and women have naked pics of themselves and you can never tell What their dress appearance is like etc

Would the way someone dresses put you off or the way they speak...

What if they haven’t made any effort to smell nice for you...

I personally am conscious before I go on a meet... always Showered, neatly trimmed face and smooth down below... deodorant... put on my best fragrance on my face and even around the genital area etc

Always brush my teeth and use mouth wash and then maybe eat a couple of extras before I turn up etc..

Clean pair of socks lol

Depending on the time of day... pick out a decent outfit to look good....

Is this too much effort... or is that just being over board..

I don't overly care how someone dresses on a meet as we probably won't have out clothes on for long but personal hygiene is really important, and it's something I'm always very conscious of.

I know the way I dress can be off-putting for people though, and I don't begrudge them that, but I won't pretend to be someone I'm not just for a fuck.

I always dress up for a meet but if he turns up in joggers and trainers I’m not going to be thrilled. Pretty sure if we just wore joggers and trainers they would complain!

Jeans and shirt is nice. Have a thing for jeans and a white T-shirt too.

Yes the way they dress and speak can be off putting.

However if we have spoken to the person for a while, and they are of a likemind to us, fun and adventurous it is less likely to be a turn off.

I guess we are a wee bit judgey.

I always try to look my best whether I'm meeting someone or not. If they clearly haven't made an effort then it indicates to me that they don't think I'm worth the trouble.

By making an effort I mean clean and groomed. If you're going to nip out from work to sneak a coffee with us at least take a clean shirt.

I always dress in a way that's appropriate to the time of day and meeting place, so it would be different for a daytime coffee meet as opposed to cocktails in a nice bar. Honestly, I wouldn't be impressed if someone turned up dressed inappropriately or looking scruffy - first impressions definitely count with me.

I would expect that good personal hygiene would be a given for all parties - I certainly wouldn't be sticking around if someone wasn't clean and smelling nice.

personal hygiene goes without saying, same as putting on some aftershave.

Clothes depends on where the meet is, always dress for the occasion.

I just thought I might be being a little OCD... but for me it’s just self presentation, I agree you do have to dress for the occasion, as I have met women after work but I do dress smart at work... which is a smart shirt and trousers or sometimes a full suit and I always keep my fragrances with me, but if I have time to go home then, I would always shower.. find a new outfit, jeans and a smart T-shirt or fitted top... I’m not trying to sound like a snob I’m just saying shouldn’t it be the norm.. as I think it’s a sign of respect for the person your meeting.

I think turning up appropriately dressed surely

If I invited a guy to my flat, I’m sure he expects me to be dressed similarly to my pictures. So if I’m at the door wearing my favourite shell suit and dirty trainers (ok before you start, I don’t own a shell suit ..dirty trainers on the other hand ) him turning away quickly wouldn’t be a surprise.

Same opposite I expect to be treated respectfully as well, so put in some effort

I’d always think that looking your best means feeling your best!

If I’m meeting someone I plan to sleep with then I’d always make the extra effort to look beautiful, for them and my hubby.

Personal hygiene goes without saying.

If someone turned up to a meet not clean and with bad breath I’d just tell them so and leave. If your going to be intimate with someone, respect them enough not to have them smelling your stale sweat and garlic breath.

When - usually a single guy - turns up scruffy, they get nowhere.

I wouldn't be that bothered about what somebody wears, if I meet a nice MF couple or single at their place, they can be totally naked as far as I'm concerned....but I definitely expect freshly showered smells and hopefully freshly brushed teeth. And obviously I would do exactly the same and whatever I wore would also smell freshly laundered.

Yes it would to be honest.

A badly dressed person in my opinion can appear unattractive.

There’s also no excuse for bad hygiene in any situation, soap and water is cheap, you don’t even need fancy smells (although I love them), you just have to wash properly!

I don’t think you can ever go to *too* much effort really, apart from far too much aftershave!

I don't object to a bit of scruff. If it's a coffee after work or a quick lunchtime cuppa then you turn up how you turn up and as long as what you're wearing is clean, it's all good.

By the time we're meeting for more than a social I don't care what he turns up wearing because I don't plan on him wearing it for long!

Hygiene is a non-negotiable though, if someone smells then it's a very sharp exit for me.

Not everyone has the same standards unfortunately.

We were at a party early this year, a nice, good looking guy starts chatting to Frisky, unfortunately in a hot house he was wearing a thick puffer jacket that going by the smell had never been washed.

Frisky nearly gagged when he leaned in to talk to her.

Yet people still played with him...

"I’m a little confused.......

Isn’t dressing nicely and smelling nicely standard everyday practice, regardless is you’re meeting someone for sex.....

Maybe I’m reading this thread wrongly , but people are giving the Op a pat on the back for being normal.....

Maybe they have experienced where someone has turned up and didn’t make any effort at all.. or has bad hygiene it’s happened to me in the past.

Ok , I thought Having good hygiene was normal human behavior.....

"

. Wait until you find out people aren’t even washing properly in the shower!

Making an effort both sides is a must.

I’m not into the whole track suit wear look unless if it’s just lounging around at home but that’s my personal preference.

If we’re going out for a social meet then yes...look sharp

I put in a bit of effort everytime i have to leave the house. During this lockdown stuff i have enjoyed just wearing joggers and a t shirt most days. I hate ironing shirts.

I'm afraid I will take a bit of a different stance to some of you regarding the aftershave issue...obviously I will not rip off the vaporiser tool and drench myself in it but a good 6 to 8 squirts of it, I am definitely guilty of doing.

Then again, I've been told also that an eau de toilette smells differently on freshly soaped skin and not freshly soaped skin...and also you have the variable of mixing different scents like that of a shower gel and an aftershave (supposedly never a good idea)
