A couple of reasons - so people can't see I've looked at them, or how often.

So people don't take me looking at them as a sign of interest.

Because men don't see that when you look at their account and don't winking, fab a pic or DM them as a not interested. It's a full on good chance and worth a lot of unnecessary messaging

I look at profiles and pictures to decide whether I'm interested, and then wink or message if I am. I usually hide who I've looked at because a lot of people take someone looking at their profile as a sign of interest.
