Ive always presumed its a manly thing to do, can imagine a hunky guy topless with an ice cold beer, sweat just shimmering on his body (cold shower needed for me ) while he's tending to the food.

Personally im slightly afraid of cooking on one, my bbq food gets done in the oven where i feel safer and not likely to serve cremated undercooked food. I was toying with the idea of either starting it out on the bbq and finishing it off in the oven or cooking food in the oven and then finishing off on the bbq... hmmm choices

how do you do your bbq food and is it a manly thing??

Nope not a manly thing at all,ive done loads of bbqs and last time i checked( looks down) aint noooo man.

I tend to do lots of skwer meats this way they cook better ,only time i put food in oven if say its marinated chicken breasts or legs and i finish them off on the bbq.i find buying bbq pans ie sausage shape tins ,fish etc and not directly placing them on bbq helps from burning them.plus continuously turning them and flipping food helps....trail n error but id say ya safe if u start with skewered food and ofcourse a nice blue fillet steak...yummmm .....and if u find the hunky topless guy send him my way pleaseee altho i had the naked chef do mine tues eve

Its just cos when ive attended family events or when friends bbqs its the males stood round cooking while the women chill out and prepare drinks/salads etc..

Never experienced doing one yet as normally a guest. also i see the celeb chefts on tv getting more creative than burgers and sausages and wondered if this would attract/put people off by cooking on a bbq

I cook whole chickens and boned lamb shoulders on mine, which takes patience - not usually a bloke trait! Start with small food and work up its fun to cook in the sun.....

Must admit i like to dooads of diff food on the bbq,fish is lush cooked on thier,salmon wrapped in foil with leom n lime herbs and a knob of low fat philly is yummy.....and like i say i do it all when pp as done two and what a good job he did ( just incase he reads this) but ive done loads on my own....try it,do one for you and ya little one and have a look at all the lush recipes for bbq food.if u like banananananans....soak them in honey rum or ya fave liqueur place in foil and cook them on there serve with cream or icecream.....scrummmy

Is all of this achievable realistically on disposable bbqs or are you better off investing in something more substantial and built for purpose.

I would like to try it out. just currently doing my garden up and love spending time outdoors. the smell of bbqs is just yummy and completes summer for me

Those disposable ones are ok for a burger.invest in a good bqq and enjoy it loads of offers on atm.
