Is it worthwhile winking

I quite like receiving winks, it’s quick and lets you know someone is interested. However, I don’t think this is generally what people like. I would like to ask for the wisdom of FAB. What do you think?

I never look at my winks, and very rarely at my friend requests.

It can work.

Think that more couples take notice of them than singles.

Some don’t like it not sure why apparently it’s lazy I wink but if they clearly state it that they don’t then I don’t personally I think it’s a way to get noticed as I always look at who’s winked at me although I’m in hiding at the moment

We spent almost a year with a lady who started by winking at us. If the profile doesn’t mention it, you just never know

Plymouth and Newcastle (sometimes)

As is the case for most questions on here, some do and some don't. We like winks, because if we like the winker we wink back and then it's up to them to send the first message and vice versa from us. Saves all the complaints about folks receiving unwanted messages and guys complaining about writing a message that gets ignored. It's still all about the profile, pics and that first message as to whether things go any further though.

A wink generally let’s people know you’re interested, still can’t beat actually taking the time to write a decent message though

I don't pay attention, and think they're for lazy people.. or those who can't message because of your filters, so I ignore them

We dont mind them but when you send a nice little message back and they read it but don't reply its like what's was the point then sending a wink if your not interested

Winks can lead to a connection, the ones that puzzle me is when someone winks us I respond with a message and that's the end of any communication

They're pretty useful on the whole, I think perhaps for single girls they'll have too many messages to go through. But for us the winks work nicely between us and other couples to start things off.

Most people ignore winks. If you're interested in someone you should message them, you can then explain what your interest is and it gives them a look at your personality.

Winks come across as the easy option but have no substance.

I see them as useful only when you're outside their messaging allowance and you might be a exception of there range.

I use it and also answer any if the person interests me...I treat them as a hi..I think sometimes it avoids the possibility if sending a message that may or not be well received..if that makes sense

Don't mind a wink. Some great meets came from a wink first. I'll sometimes send a wink if I like someone.

I'm not that fond of winks, it seems....lazy to me.

If someone actually is interested, winking seems a lazy way of expressing it.

Shyness isn’t disinterest and winking isn’t always laziness I don’t think.

Sending a wink is a baby step to gauge interest for me

I never ever check my winks.

I think guys do so it may be worth sending a guy a wink but I wouldn’t bother sending winks to women. Hard enough to keep track of your inbox.

A few weeks ago there was a thread on winks and I had over 20 thousand before I clicked on them.

Sorry, I don't mean to come across as biased to those who like it or do it.

Me, though, I don't.

Plus, there are likely 100 single men for every woman/ couple on here so winking isn't really setting yourself up for success if you're a man.

Thanks for the advice.

Fairly new on here so I didn’t realise how few winks were noticed or looked at. Maybe I am naive, too simple and just need to go balls out and send more messages?

we appreciate winks but mainly reply with a thank you to couples and female's, occasionally a single guy but its rare x the wink definitely serves a purpose, we also send a wink if we like what we see, no harm in that

If I notice I have a new wink I'll have a look to see who has sent it

98% of the time it's a single guy sending them

Go for it, try to come across as classy & not sex-deprived (like most men are in their msgs) & if you don't get a reply, fuck them, move on to the woman, there's plenty on here.

I would like to get one.. I've only had one from a woman since I've been here and she didn't reply when I messaged her, so I guess it was sent to me by mistake lol.

Personally I haven't sent many at all because I don't think there is much chance of them getting seen.
