Probably not but I thought it was an insect bite at first, been there over a week now though, about the size of a penny and on my shin, ragged edge and a slightly different texture to the surrounding skin. I don't bother doctors if I can help it but just wondering how long I should leave it before I do

La la land

Take a picture of it and monitor it, put a ruler next to it if you have one. Ring your surgery most have video calling at the moment

Sounds like good advice, will do that, like I said I don't bother doctors if I can help it with me it's usually nothing and then I feel guilty about wasting resources

You can also phone a pharmacy, they have a doctor who will look at it by photos as well, Lloyd's are quite good

Please seek medical advice ASAP. It may be nothing but if it isn’t time is a deal breaker.

Few weeks back I had a problem. A spot that grew and eventually burst, wouldn't stop bleeding. Left it 2weeks cause I didn't want to trouble NHS in these times. Eventually called the surgery as I was dressing it twice a day. Phone consultation, sent pics and was referred to hospital to check it out. 3 days later I went to hospital. Within 30mins of arriving, I was having an OP. Result, not cancer.

My point, the system works, get it checked asap, let the experts decide, they trained for it

Even easier to get this checked at the moment with video consultations. They might even just ask you to email a photo. Get in touch with your surgery and put your mind to rest.

Please don't feel like this. A friend of mine lost part of her nose when a tiny, itchy, red spot turned out to be cancer. The doctors on TV are literally beging people not to ignore medical issues because of the current situation. Just think of it as that you would need more resources if you ignored it and it was a melanoma so you're saving resources by getting it checked early!

To be fair it did look like an insect bite at first and still could be, I'll watch it closely and probably find out I've got lymes desease.

Central

It's best diagnosed early, to put mind at rest, plan treatment and prevention of worse issues.
