morning forumites.

Hope everyone is okay!

So, apologies for the mood-killing thread.. But just after advice.

Those that have had / keep having their pictures/videos 'stolen', for use on other profiles without permission/elsewhere, what do you do about it, besides report the profiles as and when they pop up??

What do you do to keep your pictures 'yours', while still enjoying posting on fab?

the amount of crank profiles being set up, with my pictures used, or being named in forums and having complete and utter lies told, people trying to use my pictures as their own / going as far as to make compilations and put me on porn sites!!! It's becoming tedious now.

I know im whinging now. Sorry.

Just after some advice if possible, from those it's happened to?

im assuming just keeping them in friends-only folder.

that's what ive resorted to this morning.

Just takes some of the fun away from this place (for me at least.. i'm not saying that's the only reason people are here)

Sorry to hear that Quacksplat.

Shouldn't happen but it obviously does.

Once your pics are up there and out there tho anyone has access.

You can keep your pix on private or friends only (if you trust your friends)

But the only really foolproof way to avoid pic theft is don't post at all.

Sad but true.

A few people watermark there photos with their fab username.

Makes it a lot harder to steal

hi MTM, thanks for replying.

Aye this morning ive moved all my things to friends only.. And luckily the only people on that list are actual friends

I just didn't know if I was missing a trick re; stopping it from happening.. Clearly not.

Suppose I should just but my big girl pants on and consider it a form of flattery.. But right now it's just annoying

Anyone that steal pictures and videos are losers I get that so.e of the pictures on here and on some of you lovely ladies profiles are beyond sexy and yer it would be nice if the guy in some of the pictures was me but it's not so why put them on my profile or steal them ????

At the end of the day it's your profile report them and move on. But it shouldn't happen x

Hi Prince, thanks for replying!

That's a good idea, I didn't think of that one

I suppose it would make it pointless of 'JoeBlogs101' to try using my pictures, when they have frigging 'QUACKKKK' written all over it

Done deal, I'll be trying that next.

My pics were stolen for another profile for the fifth time this weekend. It’s annoying as hell, but on the other hand, I can’t be arsed to get annoyed about it anymore so just report.

How do you even know they have been stolen, apart from people telling you? Mine were once on a different website, I found out as someone told me they’d seen me on there!!

I just think that if you put any picture online there is a huge risk of it being used somewhere else. So if you don’t want it shared then keep them private. It is infuriating but also flattering.

This is exactly why I don't have photos readily available & even this I send are fully clothed.

3 years of nonsense & devastation caused by photos and police can't do feck all apparently cos most sites aren't based in the UK either.

Ive been impersonated on here, on kik, and had my photos posted on porn sites.

I always report them and block the profile. It doesn’t always work.

I’ve also set all of my photos to friends only, I only accept requests from people I know and have met in person so I don’t think any of them would do anything like that.

So basically, I’ve sacrificed my enjoyment of fab to protect my privacy. And even now people are still posing as me to “pull men” it’s truly pathetic. I did try watermarking my photos too but that didn’t seem to help so fully restricting my photos and videos has really been the only option.

Damn some people have to ruin it for everyone, loved your pics!

Prominent water mark, actually on your body, not on the side where it can easily be cropped.

I watermark my pics hoping they cannot be bothered to steal you cannot really do anything to stop unless you know who they are then you can even report to Police

Also, dont keep a gallery. It allows more people more time to misuse.

Do it in the here and now on secure platforms.

I don't put anything online that would make me recognisable.

I would look at what steps you can take yourself over than trying to stop it it from happening

You can water mark pics as others have suggested or keep them private! Pics get stolen all the time from social media etc! You obviously have something that people desire so take it as a kind of compliment!

If your really worried don’t put anything up you don’t want the world seeing!

Photo editing software can be downloaded for free and is great for blurring out faces, backgrounds that you might not want seen and for adding watermarks as mentioned above. If you make the watermark semi transparent it will deter the photo thief's but doesn't necessarily detract from the photo

I watermark mine but I think when you're posting photos online it's just something that you have to accept sadly, although it shouldn't be that way.

If you are watermarking I'd recommend text that doesn't have a background that is clear over the photo and in an area that isn't easy to just crop out! It definitely puts people off stealing them.

Report the profiles on here you do find as admin are pretty good at getting on top of that but I think that's as much as you can do really.

I think the system allows non supporters too much freedom to access and use/abuse the Fab services, too many people are spoiling it for the genuine users

Supporters are only people who have paid a fiver. I don't trust them more than nom supporters.

OP you can't stop it really, but avoid posting your face so if they do get stolen, at least it won't come back to bite you in your personal life. Watermarking is a good idea too,I haven't done that but I guess I could start.
