This morning managed 7.58 Km 48.28. For some reason I found it really really hard this morning. I did go out and do a route I wasn’t 100% used to. Anyway I still go out and ran which is what counts

Back to basics, and I'm restarting my program

Missed a week after overdoing it in the heat and leaving myself shattered, and then not feeling the urge to get out there again

So it's push the reset button and get myself back into the swing of things.

Teesside

Just completed week 7 on the couch to 5k program so up to 25 minute runs, week 8 is 3 x 28 minutes so we'll see how that goes.

We have just got in from a 10 mile run. I (her) have tired legs from 24 miles of running and 26 miles of walking this week.

Didn’t know the was a thing on FB! It’s a great idea.

I found it difficult when i first started running as both help and support was in very short supply.

I currently run 25-40 miles a week and have a good group of all abilities conversing on Facebook where I share advise and tips when needed.

Always here to for the FB community. I am not a trained professional by any means but I have read and tried pretty much everything in the pursuit of gaining physical fitness and improvement with running. But I do listen and give advice and support when needed.

Message me if you ever need anything FB family

I did intervals last night. Horrid! My race effort 10km during the week made it clear that I've lost a lot of speed by just running steady miles.

Normally do my intervals on a treadmill so outside was a real shock to the system

I'm currently about 30 seconds down on my expected km split times, and need to get that suited back.

I agree that too many steady runs seem to have cut that edge

One advantage of this weather is that it helps you lose a lot of weight

But have to keep hydrated

So many fails I could write a book haha!

I have found that caffeine strips have really helped me gain a much needed boost before a long run. Take one 5 mins before and it lasts through until an energy gel at 4-5 miles. I have found it much better than coffee as the excess liquid would sit heavy on my stomach. Also the addition of 2 in 1 shorts have made a difference to my quads, tighter under shorts give a lot more support

Any one got any recommendations for a reasonably priced running/commuter shoes. My current pair is starting to go at the heals.

Depends on what you’re after, neutral or support, how much are you looking to spend etc

Herts/London

Check out the Adidas Outlet store online. You can get some real bargains.

I picked up a pair of Senseboost Go for under half price last week.

I find I have to order 1/2 size up with Adidas.

Support, I think I’m flat footed, when I press down there’s no space between the ridge of my foot and the ground. Probably looking around £40 to £80 mark.

Just because someone says they’re good doesn’t mean they’ll be good for you

Only way is to go out and try the shoes on

But isn't it always a good idea to read the reviews?

I went for a run today - only 6km with a 5km time of 30.30 which is decent enough as I was out running through pavements and parks and got lost

Finished it off with a 3km walk
