Apparently it's a pack thing - when one member goes to the toilet the others protect. Makes it seem a little less annoying too

I hate closed doors, every door in my house is propped open and a room with a closed door gives me the heebie jeebies.

Also with two cats and a kid it's pointless closing the bathroom door so I've given up on that one.
