"Anyone got their bikes out? Really enjoyed today bikes 20 miles which is the furthest I have ever done. " Well done! That should have been a great feeling of acheivement. Did you record your ride on a GPS device (Garmin/WAHOO) or your phone? Being able to map where you've been is a great way of keeping tabs on your fitness levels aka form.

Yes, hope your brother gets better soon. I have been cycling much more and further. And now to work, which is a new development for me. Loving it and it helps that the weather in London has been amazing of late.

"Been out on mine, a blast every day is reason I no longer suffer from depression. Best way for me, although some times I have injured myself ending a ride via AnE!" Cycling's like that...cycle by name: cyclic by nature. Getting home in one piece, without a visit from the hissing Punk Chair fairy, or an involuntary tarmac inspection close up: little victories as Fletch said to Godber, after lights out.

"Knees and legs a little sore today. Thought walk it off and ended up walking for hours. Being outdoors seems amazing at the moment. " Treat your self to a foam roller, preferably the smooth ones with a thin bar, a hollow tube and a fatter tube. Learn to do some yoga stretches, as they will stop 90% of the pain. Any questions just ask.

" Any questions just ask. Thinking of an upgrading the bike has anyone a recommendation?" Yes. But first a few questions: What do you own? Where do you ride the bike? Where will you store it? How many miles a week are you aiming for? What is your budget. Visit your LBS/local bike shops. If you have the space B=n+1 (Just one more bike, I promise!) Watch GCN on YT, it's for roadies. They have started a MB channel too. Post a picture of the bike so we can see it, it makes for a good profile pic too

"Yup, and if I angle my pelvis right I get an amazing rub on my clit from the seat That is the bit which fascinates me about ladies and cycling, how do they avoid the obvious? The saddles just don't seem made for ladies bits." They arent! And my seatbones ache after, too!!

You sit on something that looks like a gel-filled mouse mat then after 30 seconds stand up and have the imprint measured. This like shoe with is a bone measurement. Just like having your feet measured for length and width, will increase comfort no end. The saddle's width is crucial to comfort. You only need to spend £20-30 on a decent saddle. (How much do people spend on trainers: more?) Specialized, the American brand, is really good at making good shoes, gloves and saddles at sensible prices. These are the 3 areas where your body makes contact with the bike. If it feels good, it won't hurt and you'll ride more further and more often. As for tight glutes, there are great exercises you can do at a desk or even on a park bench that will loosen them up in a jiffy. By a foam roller they work!

GIANT, the Taiwanese manufacturer (biggest in the world) has its brand of female specific brand of biking range called LIV. LIV has realised that womens' geometry is not the same as mens', so the frames fir better and so do the jerseys, shorts and shoes.

"I used to cycle a bit but haven't bothered for a couple of yeats. Last few weeks I've been doing between 20 and 40 miles a day to get back into some cardio routine. Not bad for a 47 year old guy with a metal thigh, 2 part metal knees, a metal ankle and a dodgy hip if I say so myself lol" Well done keep getting out on the bike.
