London/Essex... ish... Romford to be exact

My first magazines were computer game related. From Spectrum magazines with free demos and free full games to CVG and Gamesmaster.

Then came music magazines I guess. I wasn't really sure what I was into and hadn't worked out my identity. I was quite random in my selection. I think Vox was the first one I ever purchased during the Brit Pop era. Over the same period I would be buying film magazines as I was now (almost) old enough to buy cert 15 videos and cert 18 on occasion and began to curate my own collection and delve into stuff I wasn't old enough for before.

Then came the men's lifestyle magazines. I probably bought four per month from Loaded, GQ, Maxim, FHM, Esquire, Nuts and Zoo... I even bought the gay magazine Attitude by mistake one time as it was placed in the same section and I just grabbed one of each.

I had a Max Power phase together with Fast Car. I didn't really modify much myself so that phase didn't last.

The last magazines I bought were Men's Health which I have only bought a handful of times before realising the content was pretty much the same.

RIP magazines. You shall be missed.

Damn you Internet!

I managed to get to a few exhibitions and events organised by various magazines and they'd normally have glamour models posing with whatever product they were promoting. To me all the girls just looked like girls you'd find walking down the High Street. But then stepped in Abi Titmuss. Her hair was better, makeup was better, stood taller than the others, generally just stood out from the models. She was so hot.

Anyone remember ‘Sky’ magazine, sort of lads mag of the late 80s and 90s.

As a teenager it was ‘sounds’ music mag

Then motorcycle ‘Bike’ loved Ogri

Looks like if it had a one word title I was interested

Years ago like 30 to 40, She magazine was excellent. Interesting articles and features not too much emphasis on celebrity. I stopped buying magazines around 1990, they just had nothing new to say. But I downloaded a free copy of Saga magazine recently (I know, I know) and it looked OK, I might subscribe.
